I may just be yelling at clouds here, but it seems to me like Discord is just IRC with pictures added. Or Skype with text added. Whatever analogy it is, what it isn’t is a suitable replacement for a threaded forum like Reddit / Lemmy. Or you know… proper old-school forums like phpbb and invision and what not....
I know you can play the game at chrome://dino, but it doesn’t evoke the same nostalgic feeling of a 10yr old me turning on aeroplane mode and spamming space bar to try and beat my brother’s high score. Good memories.
Initially, LinkedIn was just another site where you could find jobs. It was simple to use, simple to connect with others; it even had some friendly groups with meaningful discussions....
God reading this and the responses was a mistake. Honestly I wish the “protest has failed, get back to your unpaid job you overreaching mods!!!” just stays there in their copium bubble.
Most models are trained unethically, relying on weird statements about how humans learn the “same way” (looking at a few references when drawing a specific thing, you need to know how it looks to draw it lol) as large models (more or less averaging and weighting billions of images stolen from internet with no regards to the licenses)
The thing is, you can’t get that rich by playing fair, it’s only possible at the expense of others. And I can assure you, most rich people are activelty making our lives worse.
Yes, I didn’t mean that lobbying in general is bad, I mean lobbying against the interest of the public. It’s commonly done by basically any big corporation + propaganda to gaslight people into believing that its in their benefit ( an example i have on hand: web.archive.org/web/…/get-the-facts/ )
By tax evasion I mean in general doing anything to not have to pay tax, lobbying against rich people tax, keeping your assets as loans, etc.
I personally am quite against it. I joined Lemmy to stay away from the toxicity on Meta’s platforms. I don’t want any corporate bodies on the fediverse either and possibly doing to the fediverse what Google did to XMPP
