Finding the docs for the API end points is a pain in the ass. Best I found is this but it seems to be version 1 of the API.

Looking at the communities/list end point I the request can have the following arguments.

{ op: "ListCommunities", data: { sort: String, page: Option<i64>, limit: Option<i64>, auth: Option<String> } }Looks like there are multiple pages you probably only got page 1.

Try: curl https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/api/v3/community/list?page=2

ActuallyASeal,

Good links. There are more nonmeme communities that are in a better position to answer questions or offer more personalized recommendations that can be linked to as well.

Such as:

!mtf

!transgender

!lgbtq_plus

I'm sure there are more out there, a lot of community formation is happening right now. I specifically don't know the tranasc communities But they should be added too.

ActuallyASeal,

Framing noncompliance as pathology is a long-standing strategy for enforcing the status quo,” Walker says. “The noncompliant can then be robbed of freedom, abused or interfered with in all manner of ways, in the name of ‘treatment.’

This seems to be were the fight will be in the future. Transphobes will try to strip agency away from anyone who is trans in order to 'protect' them from their own decision.

ActuallyASeal,

Two classic sources:

  • Steal them from others
  • My own anxieties
ActuallyASeal,

Yep. Any further and you have to worry about radiation poisoning.

ActuallyASeal,

It's not their data. If you scrape Reddit for the comments are reposted them somewhere else Reddit wouldn't be able to come after you with a copyright violation lawsuit.

Any potential copyright is still owned by the original user with Reddit having a license to sublicense for "syndication, broadcast, distribution, or publication by other companies, organizations, or individuals who partner with Reddit."

They would have to come after you with a ToS contract violation or maybe some kind of Computer Fraud and Misuse allegations.

ActuallyASeal,

Sorry if I seemed argumentative. I was trying to state that it wasn't just your opinion that they don't own user data but it is a fact they don't own user data.

ActuallyASeal,

Detransitioning stats can be a bit hard to get because of how easy it is to do depending on how far you have transitioned. For example for me, I'm pre-HRT so if I was to detransitioning it would involve cutting my hair, stop shaving my body hair, changing clothes and changing my name back. I, or anyone else in a similar situation, would never be caught in a survey looking at detransitioning.

And, surprise transphobes, not everything is supper permanent. Most things are pretty easily reversible. Even after HRT a lot of the changes are reversible. They just take more effort. The only things I'm aware of that are not very reversible are surgeries. Whichs why someone is usually pretty far along in transition before the medical community allows you to get one.

As for the actual numbers:

On average, 97% of people who are transgender are happy with their decision to transition. Only ~3% of trans people experience some form of regret, but may not detransition.

The main reason cited for detransition is social pressure. Recent research by Dr Jack Turban has found that around 90 per cent of people who return to their birth gender in the US don’t do so because of regret or dissatisfaction, but because of pressure from family, school, work, or society in general.

ActuallyASeal,

So a bit off topic but I found it interesting. I was looking for what GID stood for, gender identity disorder, and ran into an article discussing the DSM-V debat in changing the diagnosis.

I loved this little quote:

[Daryl Hill] insisted, GID is not a mental disorder at all. More than anything else, the criteria described reflect “the distress often experienced by parents” who have become “preoccupied with the negative aspects” of their son’s or daughter’s behavior as the child struggles to make sense of gender-related feelings

ActuallyASeal,

Well the flour was not there until she pulled it out of the æther. What? You expect a man just to not see it? No. She’s a witch. Only possible answer.

⚠ Moderation of !egg_irl (Subscriber Input Needed)

Hey, all. I started posting here because it was the result that came up when I searched for "egg_irl" on browse.feddit.de, but it turns out that this community is currently unmoderated—the moderator listed in the sidebar over there is a banned user. I think we should take steps to get moderation in place now rather than later....

ActuallyASeal,

Another vote for migration. I think this makes 5 of the 6 subscribers having given input now.

ActuallyASeal,

He does have a pair of lawyers already.

top former federal prosecutor Todd Blanche and the former Florida solicitor general Chris Kise, according to people familiar with the matter.

What he's struggling with is finding someone who is an expert in national security law, can get a security clearance and is willing to represent him.

ActuallyASeal,

I think that is an actual threat if he can't find an expert. The judge might assign someone if he can't find one himself just to avoid that.

ActuallyASeal,

Meh. Lawyers represent unsavory clients all the time. I think Trump's treatment of his lawyers is the issue for most. Using them as political spokespersons and his reputation of not paying.

My guess is it'll go like this:

Trump: Judge, I can't find a lawyer with the skills to represent me.

Judge: Give me the list of people you tried to get to represent you.

The judge looks over the list see someone they knows.

Judge: Mr. X is appointed to Trump's lawyer team and will be paid 1.2 x [standard rate]. Trump will put Y amount into escrow to ensure payment.

Add some rules about what exactly the appointed lawyer will do and done. Trump can't argue for improper representation later.

ActuallyASeal,

I consider myself NB transfem. I prefer transfem because, to me at least, it invokes a feeling of movement towards feminity as opposed to into feminity.

For a community name I’m honestly not sure which one would be better. I think discoverability and inclusivity should be the deciding factors. MtF has the lineage from past communities and transfem is more inclusive.

ActuallyASeal,

You can't be too careful being noncredible.

How do y'all deal with chest hair?

I've been on hrt for a couple of months and one of the hardest things I've had to deal with is my light skin + dark body hair. While I'm not out to the world yet it'd be nice to have a smooth chest without short, visible hairs after shaving, which leads to my question. Have any of you dealt with this and found someway to at...

ActuallyASeal,

Shaving and an at home IPL device. I'm not sure how well it'll work long term but for now it's enough for me.

ActuallyASeal,

Just a simple call-reaponse meme. AnarchyChess ended spreading everywhere. Probably because chess took off with middle and high schoolers during 2020 lockdown.

ActuallyASeal,

Just need the people complaining about people complaining post followed by a rule baning complaining about people. Then we can get the golden meta post of complaining about the rule stopping you from complaining about people.
