Just played a run of "A highland song". I shouldn't have, but I did anyway.
This game is just beautiful. There's no other way to put it.
It's also scottish through and through: Lots of scottish folklore, you just want to dive in, scottish charme, a beautiful soundtrack with scottish folk music that accompanies the whole experience.
Another stellar indie gem that somehow has climbing mountains as a major theme.
Will definitely try another run when I get the time to do it.
@marthawells 's Murderbot might be my new favorite #ScienceFiction protagonist. There is something very striking about a (part) robot acting as if it was a robot. It hacked its governor module and is now a self-conscious agent seeking direction and acceptance.
Self-conscious in the literal and the more current sense of the world,. I loved how the elusively simple story is full of subtlety and philosophical depth. Glad I finally joined the Murderbot fan camp.
I saw #Thou many years ago at the AZ in Mülheim and it was the weirdest show ever. People were like talking and standing with their back to the stage as if the crappiest and most local band was playing. It was so bad the band split up for a little while afterwards.
I listened to an interview and vocalist Bryan said that at shows it's as if people are just watching with blank faces. It's obviously not very uplifting music, but isn't this awesome enough to smile? https://youtu.be/xwcIUAh1YQM?si=F_dbn1GbPdCbVhmi
@Weirdaholic Oh, I totally see your point. I think the somewhat monotonous vocal delivery and the reserved overall approach is a bit of an acquired taste even for people who are into this kind of music.
Still, within the "scene" they are fairly popular and at least on the internet people are very passionate about them. I wonder why this doesn't carry over to the live setting.
Maybe their fans are all just a bunch of introverted stoners, which is very well possible. 😅
I was thinking about creating some kind of landing page/linktree in which I list my identities that are truely me.
Two reasons:
There are actually other people using the name "Weirdaholic" (one instance being some kind of popculture/nerd podcast by two women, the other two being abandoned YouTube Channels)
I don't want to create accounts on dozens of platforms, just to prevent impersonification. I also kind of want to kill my Twitter-Account.
@Weirdaholic Linktree probably works just fine. You should avoid the temptation of graphical CMS like Wix at all costs (trust me, it's infuriating). If you also want to avoid the hassle (and perhaps costs) of setting up your own server you should try GitHub Pages with Jekyll (I think Hugo is supported, too).
You can create static pages (i.e. no JavaScript or stuff like that) mostly by writing Markdown files. It's fairly easy to get started, especially if you have WSL installed.
Does YouTube somehow limit the bandwidth on smaller channels? My internet situation is not perfect (living in Germany after all), but it's always slow when watching @LGUG2Z while it works fine for channels with more views/subscribers.
Way to ruin today's "Armored Core VI" dinner session!
