This happens way more than I’d like it to. Just be mid sentence in a conversation and remember it’s all pointless and one time I said I wanted to jump the bones of my 62 year old male coworker by accident because my brain didn’t remember what that phrase means.
It’s good to have options. You can’t make people do what you want them to do. Having options means being able to choose one central instance. People are going to be people collectively and sometimes you gotta follow the desire path.
I sometimes wonder what kind of intentions went into a vehicle sat there like that.
Did they park it there optimistically hoping to repair it? Did they park it there because their optimism ran out and no one would kind?
My curiosity began to wane when I moved to a rural area and realized it’s usually a combination of the two and far less interesting than my hope would lead me to.
most people i know use google by searching whatever question they have and including the word “reddit” at the end to find reddit threads since it currently has the most useful information....
I’ve read comments by people saying they enjoy the feeling it gives other people when they give gold. Of course, the person I’m thinking of was long before all the fuckery with the expanse of awards.

I played on PC only. I played it within a day of launch. It has been so long that I hardly recall. I believe it wasn’t the most smooth experience, but more so than that, I didn’t enjoy the gameplay. I didn’t feel like my bullets were making a connection. The world felt more contrived than I thought it would.
I also feel like perhaps I bit into the hype to the point that I hadn’t seen the forest for the trees. During my time playing, I realized I wasn’t that into the whole cyber punk concept to begin with. That’s my fault obviously. Shameful though that I didn’t set myself up for a successful refund.
I did the same thing, granted I had less tenure. I had about 8 years. Reddit had grown more and more tiresome over the last couple years. I was never a super user or much of a contributor. I had maybe 60k total karma, so not a total lurker but not exactly coming in clutch for Reddit content.
Being that I’m on iOS, I truly loved Apollo. Apollo was Reddit for me. I realized when I finally decided to confront the realty of using Power Delete Suite, that I didn’t really care about what was deleted. I used to think I had some kind of kindred relationship with my saved posts and Reddit history. What I realized was that I had never actually reflected back on any of that, so what was the point in clutching my pearls over deleting it.
I did finally go through with it, but it was mostly symbolic. I haven’t been on Reddit in quite some time. My main issue right now is needing a reasonable replacement for Reddit. At first, lemmy seemed like it scratched the itch. As I went on, I started to realize the itch was being scratched primarily by memes. Then it continued to dawn on me how long it would take to build a community like what Reddit had.
I have mixed feelings about the emulation of Reddit. I do think we have the early adopter crew currently, and that crew has, time and time again, proven to be a good crew. I feel like Lemmy needs to come into its own organically, as Reddit did. I see a lot of copy and paste communities based on subreddits, and that’s fine, but some are a little on the nose. I think we as a community need to get more creative and take ownership of Lemmy apart from Reddit. That may just take time.

How can we improve Lemmy’s SEO so we can google “(question) lemmy” instead of relying on “(question) reddit”

It’s graphically very pretty, at least, and I’m gonna miss the place.
Is anyone else getting really crazy lag after suspending the app then returning to it?
