This really feels like it was conceived as a 3 hour movie, then Marvel shuffled the budget and cut everything big out of this but they went ahead with it anyway with a much reduced scope. It’s too bad, because Sam Jackson is great in it, as are Don Cheadle and Olivia Coleman.

How is this not considered attempted manslaughter at the very least? Even non-citizens have rights under our own laws. Whoever issued those orders should be dishonorably discharged and jailed. Seems pretty cut and dried to me.

While I grant that there probably are a handful of people who can mod a dozen or more smaller communities and not power trip, I think they’re probably the exception to the rule, and we shouldn’t encourage it. The more communities you mod, the higher the standards should be for community engagement.

They absolutely could. I don’t know if there’s a good technical solution to that. Maybe requiring IP registration or some other identity verification for mods over a certain number of communities.

Considering he is (albeit very indirectly) part of a minor plot device in Secret Invasion, I suspect Marvel plans to use him in team-ups indefinitely. Probably Rocket too.

And I’m sure as long as Chris Pratt is game, they will have at least a support role for Star Lord in anything cosmic going forward. Probably the same can be said for Zoe Saldaña’s Gamora, considering how precious rare popular female superheroes are. It would be a shame to squander her, especially considering they went through such lengths to bring that character back from the dead.

This and The Sixth Sense are among the few movies that are better on rewatch because you know the twist but the characters don’t.

You may be overestimating how many Ram drivers actually use their truck for anything besides peacocking. Maybe it’s a regional thing, but around here I see more of them without a scratch on the bed than hauling or towing anything.

Man, I saw Dial of Destiny last night and I felt like it used its runtime well. Could’ve done without yet another train fight, and the chase sequences might’ve been cut down a bit, but the only thing that felt saggy about this movie was Harrison Ford’s skin.

That’s great! I’ve been watching since I noticed the berries so ripe, and I actually saw a red-headed finch in the yard today for the first time in years, so hope isn’t lost.

Because it’s barely a concern in the movie. It’s little more than a Macguffin to raise the stakes. That’s honestly my biggest problem with it. They set up this compelling concept of an AI manipulating information and then the most they ever do with it is have it hijack a walkie talkie. I loved how the intelligence agencies were all switching everything to analogue, but none of that ever really makes any difference to the story at all.

Idunno, the pillory could get pretty brutal if the crowd was sufficiently riled up. It wasn’t uncommon for people to bring stones or bricks.

The downside is studios will also be more impatient to get the product out the door, so there will be less time allowed overall to finish.

I’d definitely give it a shot before preemptively shitting on it like this, though. She’s clearly a huge fan of the character and the universe, and I’d love to see what kind of story she wants that character to be a part of.
