CeruleanRuin,

I’m convinced that some USB plugs rotate through a fourth spatial dimension.

CeruleanRuin,

I’ve become a full convert to tablet reading because of this. It’s also nice to be able to slip my book into my pocket and take it anywhere easily.

Feels like I’m in a sci-fi story every time I use it.

CeruleanRuin,

The TV series is quite different, but retains most of the core concepts. It’s much more character-driven, and looks absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended for anyone who likes sci-fi.

CeruleanRuin,

The show is its own thing. It was always going to need to be radically different to work on the screen. That’s what adaptation means.

CeruleanRuin,

He clarified his words after some people naturally started to take it a little too literally, but I don’t think he needed to.

Whoever that “anonymous exec” was who said they wouldn’t even start to negotiate until strikers started losing their homes deserves to be pilloried.

CeruleanRuin,

And can you blame them? The opposition infrastructure is so incredibly overbuilt that it’s like trying to chip away at a wall when they keep taking away your tools.

CeruleanRuin,

Wow, a whole community for persecution complex babies whining that they can’t use dogwhistles and complain about ‘wokeness’ (whatever you think that means) without consequences? Nah, I’m good out here, thanks.

CeruleanRuin,

You can tell by the underscore that it’s special.

CeruleanRuin,

The meta of this scene is that the network only allows it because it’s pure spectacle, and everyone goes back to their normal ignorant apathetic existences afterwards, with nothing changed.

CeruleanRuin,

She’s been in big projects, yes, but never this big as a central role.

CeruleanRuin,

It’s really just another form of money-laundering, which is why the government doesn’t do anything about it. It allows them to move massive amounts of money around without anyone being able to see it, because it’s hidden behind line items like this.

CeruleanRuin,

It’s not illegal, it’s just against most airlines’ policies because hurts them financially.

CeruleanRuin,

Now we see the bias inherent in the system.

Headlines like this nearly always make the workers the villains.

CeruleanRuin,

I’m all for naming and shaming, but what’s the evidence it was Iger? I’m not doubting it, just would rather have the receipts if they exist.

CeruleanRuin,

That’s pretty good. Though maybe ‘wyrm’ is more accurate, since they hoard wealth and destroy everything else.

CeruleanRuin,

Like what? Would anyone be talking about it if he was more gentle?

CeruleanRuin,

He didn’t, not really. As he clarified, it was only an expression of frustration and a warning to execs that saying shit like that can lead to a type of escalation that neither side really wants.

CeruleanRuin,
CeruleanRuin,

I think you meant to reply to the guy above me.

CeruleanRuin,

There is graffiti in Pompeii that definitely suggests a memetic type of replication. Hell, one could argue that putting your handprint on a stone wall is a meme.

CeruleanRuin,

Bro

I didn’t realize

that discussion was discouraged.

My bad.
