you actually have to be joking
so my grandad decided he was going to have the roof washed and repainted. I'm not sure why exactly, but whatever, it's his FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to spend

however, it has contaminated the water tank with roof dust, and now my coffee tastes like dirt.

so we just spent half an hour trying to switch to one of the two other, uncontaminated tanks. here's what I've learned:

• the roof gutters drain into tank A
• water flows from tank A into an electric pump
• pump, acting as a valve, runs to a distributor, feeding:
  a) the house
  b) the laundry
  c) tank B
  d) tank C

now, the astute of you may be wondering, "so how do you feed the pump from tank B or C"
that's very simple: you don't. we're stuck with dirty water I guess, because my grandad spent TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS on a pair of unusable water tanks, I guess.

I've been worldbuilding again, this time for a fantasy story set somewhere way before the middle ages, probably like our world's equivalent of the early iron age. It has been surprisingly fun.

I just spent so long trying to debug a function, only to realise that the dictionary I was calling was an empty variable because the data wasn't loading... because I commented out the function to load it to fix something else months ago.

Okay, it snowed somewhere last night. It's raining now, and the snow outside my window appears to have mostly turned to sheets of ice, but I haven't seen snow up close since before I went to school. Now I want coffee, and then I need to get going. I have a meeting at 10, and if you know how solar powered drivers are here this is going to be an absolute nightmare.
