I always find it super unusual that people can remember the specific dates they started doing stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's cool as heck, but for myself, I have no idea when I came to Fedi. It was somewhere not long into November. Or was it late October?

When did I start streaming? I dunno. My channel is old as heck, I believe, but I probably only started in earnest somewhere towards the middle of last year. What's the date? Who knows.

My original statement here was very poorly worded, and it seems to have caught two different things at once. I apologise for the confusion. I will withdraw the statement for that reason. I did not intend to disparage a part of the gaming community who use accessibility features in games. That is absolutely not the point I was trying to make, nor is it at all the sort of view I hold.

I am a huge fan of video games, computer games, and digital gaming in general. And the more people can participate and enjoy gaming in all its forms, the better. I absolutely appreciate games being more accessible, reachable to a wider audience, and I am therefore also incredibly appreciative of the people who have reacted to this post. For that reason, while removing my original statement, I am not going to delete the post entirely.

I look forward to learning a lot more about this and other accessibility topics in video games, and deeply appreciate everyone who has replied with their insight, knowledge and experience on the topic, and most especially, the kindness and shared passion for the medium in their words. Thank you all.

You can, and should, save-scum as much as you like in single-player games. You should be allowed to try and fail as many times as you like. You should be allowed to load if you get an outcome you don't like. You should be allowed to try different approaches, and not feel bad about "breaking" the game or something. You should be allowed to choose the fun you have.

Yes, there are some games which doesn't allow this, and where the challenge is "part of the fun". I'm not talking about those. I'm definitely against it when that attitude starts bleeding into all games, though.

Oh yeah, I sent the faulty PSU that was crashing my PC (I am 100% certain that was the cause, as since replacing it I haven't had a single crash or hardware issue while nothing else on my system changed, and it has been several months now) back to the store I bought it from. They assure me that there is nothing wrong with it, and want me to either recommend some other tests, or to send it back.

I'm a bit peeved. Tempted to get my 100USD paper weight back and tell them they've lost a customer, but on the other hand I should probably not go around burning bridges.

Today is the first of May. New month, not so new me. At least it's an off day. My plan was to stay in bed for a bit, write some, and then draw, but I think what I'm going to do is spend today working on my game. I have started from scratch again recently, and for the first time have built up a system that not only actually works reliably, but is both easy and kinda fun to interact with.

Ah, so the GUI for the package manager on Manjaro has now broken for me, and none of the advice I've found has been even remotely helpful. I wonder if there's a way for me to reinstall it without breaking everything, maybe that will fix it. I'll check tonight.

Tomorrow it's back to work for me. Which I'm actually looking forward to. I'm going to try my utmost to not let work absolutely dominate my every waking moment again this semester... I have a lot of room to bring in my own ideas and my own approaches now, too, so I'm going to be doing a lot more of that.
