Lets make my first post here some OC. I was listening to World Eaters and got really inspired to make some huge tune in that vein. I got in touch with them and was actually able to get the singer David to do vocals on the song. I’m real happy with how it’s turned out and would love to hear what you guys think.
I've never actually run any of the old modules like Keep on the Borderlands or anything like that. I'm much more used to homebrewing a setting entirely or at most grabbing a few elements from a published adventure (I took a bunch from Willow, for example). I think this is why most of my favorite systems tend to be more in the...
I’ve tried running some of the older modules, but they lack the streamlined playability that seems to be a large part of the OSR scene. Keep on the Borderlands, while seminal and deeply influential, doesn’t have a great layout. It’s writing is in big block columns of text that make it challenging to find the information you want when you’re at the table. I tend to like reading through the older adventures for inspiration more than to run them. I find myself gravitating towards newer gonzo adventures like the stuff in DCC.
Hello there! I've been OSR-curious for a few years now. I like sandbox games where the dice decide reactions, weather, random encounters, etc because that keeps things interesting even for the GM. Incidentally, it also works great for solo play which I like....
I think the main rules and crunch are all free, but if you want all those sweet worldbuilding tables you need the deluxe edition. Could be mistaken tho
I pledged the Knave 2e Kickstarter and I can't wait for the early pdf to drop. Is anybody else waiting for Knave or maybe another game to drop? It is always interesting to be actually waiting for something as opposed to using my musty old tomes lol.
I got a look at one of the patreon previews and I can't wait for the full thing. It looks like it's taken all the accessible bits from the 1st edition, Cairn, Mausritter, etc, and added a nice amount of level progression and comparability with OSR modules. The other thing is how playable it seems. Everything is easy to find, descriptions are terse but evocative, and the crunch is easily understood. I'm so excited.
Title says it all!? I'm a reddit refuge and picked this instance because it's A) Canadian (I'm in MN, so consider myself an honorary Canadian), and B) The clean energy thing....
Today, walking down the street I heard black metal (interesting that I can recognize black metal from a very long distance away at a whisper’s volume)… And I was like, hmmmm who’s playing from their phone?...
I’ve always wanted to sit next to someone playing music out of their phone on public transit and play the heaviest shit imaginable right beside them ahaha
I totally get it. Black metal has that almost white noise vibe where the dynamics are really constant and almost soothing. Especially when it’s so atmospheric and you can lose yourself in it.
King Gizzard - Flamethrower [FFO: Big riffs, Syncopation, Psychedelic Thrash] (youtu.be)
I am in love with this new album. Not a huge fan of the mix, but I love that it’s raw and original, like all their stuff.
Painkiller Cover (youtu.be)
I’ve been trying to learn this solo since I was 17 and it feels wicked to be able to finally play it!
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Dragon (www.youtube.com)
I am loving this song so much. What do you guys think of King Gizz? You know what they say: if you don’t like the album, wait a year
Some OC for you sickos (youtu.be)

How many of you actually run old adventures in your OSR games?

What's the difference between OSR and NSR?

The Video That Really Sold Me On Black Sword Hack (youtu.be)
So much world building and flavor crammed into one book. With this and Worlds Without Number you should not need anything else.
Is anyone else waiting for Knave 2nd edition?

So.... what makes this server different? :)
