Been wanting a prybar to go with my copper EDC stuff for a while but I was worried copper wouldn’t be strong enough. Found this old wrench on ebay for $10 and modified it for my needs. Left one of the wrench jaws on there so there’s two ways to use it as a prybar. The spike end is rounded enough to probably not tear through...
As Peppycito said, they don’t make sparks, which is important if you’re working somewhere that could have explosive fumes. The lanyard is traditional for sailors’ tools to prevent loss as well as dropping it on someone below. Mostly decorative now but it’s convenient to be able to let go of the tool if you need both hands for something.
I used to be mostly into teas, but my wife has always been into coffee. I work night shift so I figured it would be nice if I brewed her a cup in the mornings and save her the time getting ready. I’ve learned a lot about brewing coffee and found a brand that I like but she isn’t as into it and doesn’t really have a brand...
First, it sure is nice that we don't actually have to choose just one slide rule and stick with that, but if you had to choose just one, which one would it be?...
Probably a Pickett N600-ES. I feel like it’s the most bang for buck size-wise. I really like the Concise / Sama & Etani slide rules with the reference tables too. I have several of those stashed around in case I need to reference a formula or periodic table
Part of the appeal is the space factor too. That photo of Aldrin with his pipe and slide rule on Gemeni is one of my favorite pictures even though it’s sadly underexposed
Hey, everyone. I'm building my first PC and would like to ask for some help. I've always been more of a console guy, and all my PCs so far have been pre-built and intended mainly for office stuff, so I have zero experience with this....
I’ve been out of the loop for a bit, so I could be wrong, but I think that warning is specifically about using the integrated graphics on the processor and isn’t a concern if you have a dedicated GPU.
As far as RAM goes, I went with 32GB when I built my system but I’ve never used more than 16 that I’m aware of and I have three monitors full of Firefox and chrome windows and tabs, a cluster of background programs, live wallpaper, and a custom rainmeter interface.
I meant that if you have a dedicated GPU, I think you can update your bios either way. My understanding was that the warning was because you wouldn’t be able to get graphics output with an old bios version that didn’t support the igpu
I use Jerboa, it's good but I wonder what other apps could bring to the table. One thing that Jerboa still doesn't have yet is an image viewer, every image link I enter opens up the link in an internet browser and the image loads very slowly, tho that might be cause Lemmy.World image hosting servers are still small and new.

How many apps for Lemmy are being developed or planned at the moment for Android?
