Question on raising children. Pretty much everything I learn about computers came from me breaking my computer and learning how to fix it. Have people looked into convertly and regularly breaking or purchasing tech that breaks to teach their children tech?
Anyway just thinking about saving old laptops that I'll give to kids some day running an ancient version of arch so by 18 they can crack the NSA
@MrHandyMan@Inextinguishable_Ravings I got my old family computer when it got upgraded. I ended up dual booting it between its old Windows version and several varieties of Linux trying to see if I could get anything to run on it. That was my primary driver through high-school. Old laptops can be fun, though desktops are easier to mod, and you might be able to get a similar experience with a Raspberry Pi (though there are cheaper alternatives now) or going lower level with an Arduino.
@MrHandyMan@Inextinguishable_Ravings mine aren't quite ready for working their own devices yet, but I've been trying to instill some early foundational stuff with logic games like LightBot Jr and I think we might be near ready for something like Snap Circuits Jr.
@Neblib@kemotep@Slyence I have been tending towards a fighting fast and killing one by one strategy of late but sometimes it just doesn't work in the same way as sometimes prudence lets you enemies gather.
In practice I think the real question is which path gives equipment earlier
Yeah I was definitely thinking this country at first glance but tobacco and bike production were surprising and I was prepped to be wrong but I got it right.
Even with the shield those vamps hit hard so I had to heal a bit after the first and did the pull to me trick to get first hits on the second. Fun level.
@Inextinguishable_Ravings@kemotep@Slyence I didn't do well with first zombs but luckily they're slow so I healed up to at least take one more hit and then kited them away from the hallway so I could sneak in. Good job on that 100%
@Inextinguishable_Ravings@Slyence@kemotep there's an axe in North room. I got really lucky one run and had both imps down but the genies got me. There's also a dragon.
Luckily there must not have been any items in the three pots I missed when I fat fingered myself into the exit instead of down to them. Fun day with the equipment.
