Just_Pizza_Crust,

In a general sense of messaging, that totally makes sense. Biden has raised the capital gains tax and reclassified cannabis, while Trump is a criminal who committed election fraud. I want people who live in swing states to vote for Biden for the sake of us all.

Specifically about the issue of voting though, am I missing something?

Just_Pizza_Crust,

“…I am part-hippie, part-fascist, part-libertarian, and mostly just a Republican…”

First thing I saw there. I’m glad to see they’re such a diverse group lol.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

I helped actively resist his killology training seminars in Spokane, WA a few years ago. We really had no idea if it would work out, but the collective efforts of activists, organizers, the general public, and city council caused him to no-show at his own event.

There’s fairly little news on the details of how it all went down, but here’s a good article leading up to the seminar that accurately accounts all the major details:

Spokane City Council condemns controversial ‘killology’ police training

If Grossman shows up to your community, you can resist him and win.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

As someone who used to post OC, it’s why I left. Nothing but OF spam bots and pics of pornstars. Reddit is somehow the better option, unfortunately.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

[Author] is an independent researcher, freelance journalist, book reviewer and blogger.

That’s just like, your opinion dude.

Seriously though, it’s an option piece from a freelancer. Opinions are not considered a form of evidence, nor is the author an expert in any field.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

Softcore gilf porn created by an AI to sell state lottery tickets wasn’t on my cards for 2024, but here we are.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

… Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas.

Dude is in his 70s and still acts like his mom is literally Satan for saying he has to eat his peas. That’s some real snowflake shit.

I hadn’t considered the second part, but couldn’t bundling the source with the bypass solve that issue?

Being that news communities are there to facilitate discussion, it seems counterproductive to keep people from viewing the article in question. If someone just wanted to read the headlines and not have any discussion, an RSS feed would probably be better.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

With the archive link posted in the body, that’s not really a paywall anymore. I do appreciate you doing that though!

Just_Pizza_Crust,

I agree with that, but am also limited to being able to afford just a few news subscriptions. Assuming I’m not the exception, it just seems to be counterproductive towards generating discussion in a community for discussing news.

People who can only view a clickbait headline also end up not knowing the context of what others are discussing that may have paid for the subscription, and could further be counterproductive in generating meaningful discussion.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

This is also what I tend to use

Just_Pizza_Crust,

Listen, I’m working my way through a bottle of Jamison whiskey as we speak and can barely understand what you’re getting at. I read something about amnesia though, which reminded me of my aunt’s exorcism, which also reminded me I still have fries i.N my toaster oven from earlier, so thanks. Good name btw.

Core Distance to TjMAX randomly spikes to 100°C in OCCT

Recently I tried to clean my PC with an I5 11400F CPU. I removed the GPU and wanted to remove the CPU cooler too but couldn’t do it. I tried though and I think I might have damaged the motherboard with a screwdriver in a few places during the process (don’t ask how). Can it be the reason for the spikes? Like could I damage...

Just_Pizza_Crust,

Oh boy. I’m not 100% sure about Intel CPUs, but typically the sensors are inside of the metal casing with the silicon. You might’ve damaged the frame of the cooler so it’s not making contact with the CPU and causing the CPU to spike in temp. I’d recommend reaching out to someone who has experience with building PCs and see if they can help you get the CPU cooler off properly, replace the thermal paste, and hopefully get it remounted properly.

Don’t stress your CPU for now because it will cause long-term damage that could fry the CPU/mobo.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

Most fancy lingerie (or anything with lace) must be washed by hand in a sink. It just makes sense to wash clothes in the washroom as opposed to the kitchen or bathroom, especially since the plumbing is already there for the washing machine.

According to People Magazine it might be worth 5 or 6 figures, or just $45.

If you look at the communities themselves, it seems like they’re trying to become mods of most religions, many political beliefs, and concepts related to India.

They’re also asking to become mods of already existing coms. I’m really not sure what they’re up to.

Edit: Even more interesting, it seems like there’s been common requests for religious and Indian communities on !community_requests over the past 2 months. I’m not sure what to make of that either.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

Listen, I’m trying not to ascribe intent to their actions. But yeah, possibly.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

I saw this band back when they were doing songs from the album ‘HEAVY META’ and it was incredible. They’re definitely one of the most dynamic bands I’ve seen in a long time.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

CSAM is still unfortunately an issue on Lemmy. Just yesterday I had to contact an admin of the 2nd largest instance directly to get a post removed that had been up for several hours. Worst of all, it had more upvotes than downvotes. I do applaud the admin for taking action the minute I notified them, but it should never have been able to get that far.

Also, some of the issues involving Lemmy developers really remind me of major Minecraft servers back in the day lol. There’s just an inability for the “helpers” to do much problem solving because of the lack of tools, and absolute reliance on the person at the top to take action. Even then, the person at the top doesn’t always have the skill set necessary to solve the issues that arise.

I look forward to seeing how Sublinks goes, but without a good reason for users to migrate it could be dead on arrival.

Just_Pizza_Crust, (edited )

I think there’s a good chance people will leave once Lemmy integrates with Threads. So if you time things wisely, you can probably get a good base of users to swap their coms to Sublinks.

What’s your planned policy for karma? I know users hated it, but as a reddit mod I found it super useful to determine between a misinformed user and a troll. If your plan for mod tools is as good as you’re saying, I wouldn’t mind going back to modding.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

Listen, putting ‘Web Developer’ isn’t any worse than putting ‘Software Engineer’ in your tinder bio. Either way, you’ve fucked up.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

It’s a new account made for trolling, but we’ve got no active mods, so their rage bait posts will stay up unfortunately.

Just_Pizza_Crust,

I’m not sure why, but you seem to have posted this yesterday but it didn’t show up until an hour ago. Your instance may be having some issues.

I do get where you’re coming from with all that, but the act of going to therapy itself is an achievement a patient can benefit from, and should be considered from the start. If that truly isn’t possible for someone, voice calls from a real therapist are a reasonable next step.

Also, the original question was, “Can AI replace therapists?”. I can see some meaningful benefits coming from an AI assisting a therapist, but that’s not what I was getting at. AI alone really just feels like a bandaid on a bullet wound, when applying pressure or a tourniquet is also available.
