I have an official James Bond film, with Sean Connery, I never see included in collections or when they are playing the movies on TV where he battles the villain in a video game that kinda reminds me of Defcon. The twist is that they’re hooked up to it with wires that will shock the players as they make mistakes, and the loser dies.
Never Say Never Again. (It’s produced by Warner Bros and not MGM like all the other films)
I am mostly the same, but I also enjoy video games and movies and shit… Which only need to be digital. I can always put them on physical media myself if I have need. But I never buy shit for the games in the game, like I ain’t spending $20 real money to have my character in a fursuit. That shit is stupid, especially when I’m coming from the golden age of online gaming where you could just upload that shit yourself and everyone would see it.
I also won’t pay for an always online game anymore. Back when the servers were run by players, it didn’t matter much because the game could never truly die. But with the servers being entirely controlled by the dev/publisher, I am not willing to pay for a game that they can just shut off and make unplayable at any point.
Lemmy is great for general shit… News, memes, generic hobbies like cooking that most people might do, etc.
I miss being able to go to /r/Game_Name and being able to talk specifically about that one title. The generic “Gaming/Games” communities are mostly just news about the industry as a whole, which doesn’t really get discussion about the games themselves.
IDGAF though if nobody else uses it, come June 21st, I definitely will be practically spamming the only Elden Ring community on Lemmy with stuff from the DLC as I play through it. Add “Lemmy” to the online group keyword thing in-game :P
