When they start fucking with notifs, I become nervous. I’ve seen how easily they can f this up. You can’t make everyone happy when it comes to to notifs but you can certainly piss off EVERYONE with the wrong choice.
The market simply isn’t there to be a viable option to manufacture both size screens. Unfortunately, you’re the minority and your needs aren’t important enough to change their manufacturing process.
It would require a lot to mass manufacture both sizes at the pace these factories pump these things out. It would effect their bottom line and there’s not enough ppl that want small phones to make it worth doing.
I hate that for you and others. But it’s just how it goes.
Three yrs of security updates my ass. That is blatenly false.
I love me some cheap Motorola phones but you’ll be getting 2 years of software support. You MIGHT get 2 OS updates. They’re not supporting their phones with security patches beyond 2 yrs. Ever.
But if you’re keeping your Moto longer than two years you’ve got bigger problems. I know ppl do it, but if security is a concern you should know by now that Motorola is not a device for long term use.
If security isn’t a concern, Rock On if your device is still running strong.
I struggle to understand why in 2024 you are dieing on the hill of a headphone jack. It’s over. Let it go.
There’s no argument you can make that will have any logic to it. There once was, but that time has passed, pal.
I am 99 percent sure if a guy had a jack on his phone, yet were listening to stuffs via BT headphones and they died, he wouldn’t have a set of wired headphones on him.
And if I just so happen to have some wired ones on me to offer him, he’d probably be like,
“nah, thanks. I’ll just charge these for 15 mins and it’ll last another 3 hrs”
And eventually, Google will drop this feature for the Pixel as well. You can bank on it. An unlockable bootloader adds absolutely nothing of value to these companies because it slows down year to year buying from consumers and isn’t as profitable. It is from their perspective, counter productive to leave this feature enabled. So this isn’t surprising in the least, tbh.
Asus and Google used it to bait enthusiasts and as soon as they established a user base they were comfortable with, they will remove it. If the phones stop selling, they will simply stop making them. It’s that simple. You keeping your phone updated and feature packed for several years is not how they intend to allow the market to stray.
They want year to year sales above all else. An unlockable bootloader negates that for the majority of those who buy phones with that feature.

I took off work today because I feel like death. (strep throat, aching body). I just had DD deliver me a pint of alcohol so I don’t have to drag my sick ass out in this weather and risk getting other ppl sick.
I’m gonna make a hot toddy after dinner, lay down and hopefully feel better tomorrow for work. Point is, alcohol delivery is a great service imo. One I’m willing to pay for. It’s also one that has stopped my buddy from driving his already drunk ass to the store for more booze.
That alone possibly saved a few lives. Just sayin.
