But Hamlet was written with intention.

The point in the expression is to underline how critical coincidences are, and how correlation is not causation. It’s not that Hamlet is long and nigh impossible to “randomly” generate, but that at scale, seemingly impossible coincidences do actually happen.

MotoAsh, (edited )

You’re just describing the mechanics of a coincidence, which is exactly the entire point.

I don’t assume intention with Hamlet. There WAS intent there. The entire fucking point of the expression is people add intention when there IS NOT any. By using a situation that DID have intent, it is quite literally missing the entire point.

It is utterly stupid to try and twist a reality in to a different, incompatible hypothetical. Especially when reality is antithetical to the entire point.

MotoAsh, (edited )

The case of the monkeys is a hypothetical to highlight that seemingly impossible things, like a fully cogent and understandable stage play, resulting from effective chaos is not actually impossible despite any human concept of impossible.

The monkeys with type writers are allegory for random. Adding intention makes it a decision, not a random event. The expression is not saying anything about decisions, but “form” rising from chaos.

MotoAsh,

To experience the anthropogenic global warming.

I mean, I really do NOT defend religion, because over all, it really is a crock of BS twisted history and Baby’s First Philosophy rolled in to garbage cults.

… Though there ARE multiple reasons an “all-knowing” god would test their creations, even if they “knew the results”. This happens all the time in the real world. Some engineers just enjoy seeing their creations do something, even if it’s doomed to be a prototype. Software engineers test their stuff all the time when they “know” what it will do.

Hell, 99.9% of science itself is getting a solid idea before you run the experiment. Remember: scientists test hypotheses, not hair-brained ADHD shower thoughts.

So while religion is overall total BS for dummies, individual components DO make sense, in their own way. It wouldn’t be so popular if the pieces didn’t make more sense than the whole.

Does Trump being found guilty actually matter?

Since he can still run for office and become president while in prison, is this actually going to do anything to stop him from being president? Obviously it’s not gonna sway anyone who’s gonna vote for him, so is there any actual way this keeps him from office, or at least has some positive effect for us? I wanna join the...

MotoAsh,

Oh come on, you’ve watched this farce for how long and still ask that question? He’ll be released and immediately pardon himself for anything and everything he can, and literally go to war against the states that still want to hold him accountable.

MotoAsh, (edited )

Nah, this is much worse. It’s like any effective con: Make it absurd at face value so the only people you deal with are already selected to be foolish rubes.

Too bad the US is full of foolish rubes… Hopefully not over half, but I’m not holding my breath.

MotoAsh,

Why do something smart and difficult when you could do something stupid and greedy?

MotoAsh,

You’d be surprised at how much money can disappear and go to shady contractors with something dumb like, “renovations”.

MotoAsh,

The more insidious part is they want you to think they HAVE earned their vast wealth. They have not. They never have.

MotoAsh,

Maybe less caffeine if you’re so essily stimulated metabolically.

MotoAsh,

It is NOT for pushing money to a porn star. It is for marking the hush money as legal fees. That’s ALL it is. They didn’t even get him on the moral high ground, but nitpicked his books.

This country is so beyond fucked… Cannot even get basic details correct…

MotoAsh,

Fraud is just lying in an official capacity.

MotoAsh,

and he is a coward that will put his own life above justice. Some farce of a “judge” he is when justice does not rule him… This country is beyond pathetic.

MotoAsh,

Don’t worry, the judges on the more severe cases will also chicken out.

IMO, he should see jail time for the significance of the consequences of the crime. Are the institutions that make the country sacred or not? If so, tampering with and harming them should always go for the max penalty.

Fixing books? Don’t really care that much. Tampering with elections in an effort to become a despot? He SHOULD be hanging…

MotoAsh, (edited )

No, no it is not. What are the goals of an economy or government? To collapse in repeated cycles? No? Then it is, in fact, NOT presently working as designed.

MotoAsh,

Only a moron fails to understand the current economy is NOT functioning “correctly”.

Is an economy an ever-present thing that works well or poorly depending on many factors? Or something created?

If you say created, you are beyond fucking stupid.

MotoAsh,

and it should be elevated clear to jail time at minimum, but it won’t, because this country not only has no idea what justice is, but also has no idea how to literally defend itself from “threats within”.

MotoAsh,

That’s exactly my point. To pretend the government or economy is supposed to be some unstable mess is missing the entire purpose of it in the first place, let alone understanding any balance…

Defending the rich and powerful as above the law is equivalent to defending death as the purpose of life.

MotoAsh,

You ask me to have faith in judges except for the most powerful ones and some other cherrypicks … yeaaahhh when you have to draw such qualifications… the system is completely fucked.

MotoAsh,

It was both. Sometimes literally at the same time.

MotoAsh,

There are no infinities in the real world. Only boundaries where something becomes a guarantee. Horizons that you cannot grasp. Unfortunately for you, those horizons seem to stop at … movie references.

Congratulations.

MotoAsh,

Yes, that is the constant attempt of the powerful to remain so. That is a constant no matter what. The entire point of democracy is to upset that balance.

Are we a (fledgling and flailing) democracy, or just a failed experiment?

MotoAsh,

Also pieces of the planet that hit Earth to make the moon.

We do not know for certain.

MotoAsh,

You literally think like one. Do better.
