@apq I asked it awhile ago about this, it was really hard to get a response. Had to tell it to act as an investigative journalist and force feed some articles about the subject first. The sources seems trustworthy but who knows if they have good info.

I can't even imagine what the video AIs will consume in terms of carbon and electricity.

I finally figured out a way to do a capture of Syndicate ! YESSS ! 😍

EDIT: This is now a thread to present what a found out about the game rendering pipeline. 🧵

@froyok Widgets are composed and rendered into a "texture" before applied to the final render. If we are talking about UE that is.

@froyok I see, interesting!

@froyok What a nice and simple implementation. Looks great.

@froyok Looking forward to reading it 🙂

I've been using Obsidian for 6 months now and I'm hooked. It's what I use for my daily notes, saving random ideas that used to go in .txt files. I pay for the sync to phone functionality.
It's super powerful and simple, I love it.

@_benui It is really nice, didn't know they had a synch to phone feature. I've been using google drive and then drivesynch to synch it to phone.

Creating glass in VR is always a risk due to the cost, especially double glazed.

A neat trick is to use a subtle bump offset to fake the depth. When treated with finesse it will work with cheap additive glass, (for low end devices) as well as proper translucent glass.
The only real extra cost is one more texture sampler.

Showing what a subtle bump offset can do to fake depth in translucent glass.
