Oh wow, sure enough that did it. Maybe this is helpful: I was inspecting it with the firefox network inspector and with both English and Undetermined selected, clicking save doesn't send any network requests at all.
Something else weird, with only undetermined selected on the community, I was able to update the sidebar, but I was unable to reply to you (same infinitely spinning issue) until I reenabled both English and Undetermined on the community (I have both enabled in my user settings)

I'm a mod of /c/kansascity and ours is one that is broken. I'm not sure if this is the case for others with broken icons, but I'm actually unable to update the icon or even the sidebar text at all. Clicking save results in an indefinitely-spinning loading icon. I've let it sit for a long time and it never does anything. I wanted to give it a few days before bothering @seahorse about it in case it was my problem, but it seems like it's still doing it.

New to midwest.social and lemmy in general and I had a question - I made some posts/comments from lemmy.ml but I noticed they weren't getting any interaction and they weren't actually showing up when I visited midwest.social directly. Additionally, when subscribing to a community, the button turned to "subscribe pending." Does this mean lemmy.ml is blocked here? I noticed there is a Blocked Instances list (https://midwest.social/instances) but lemmy.ml is listed under Linked Instances
I can't check right now because it seems like lemmy.ml is down right now (so maybe you're right about that), but I'm almost certain I only have english enabled. I'll re-try subscribing too. I did see there's a github issue that seems somewhat related to this https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/1315
