This release seems really solid. Good timing to hit a lot of good software releases. Makes me want to finally try out Debian. I'm a big fan of 'it just works' experiences if possible so I might be the target audience.

But I'm very happy with Fedora for quite a while now. I'm still amazed how stable it is even with very frequent updates as well as very current software overall. So it would just be switching for the sake of doing it and I try not to do that anymore.

Oracle will likely see some extra changes due to the Focus Spell mini rework they mentioned. Overall I'm super hopeful this will go in a good direction. What was mentioned so far all seems very nice.

Love the vibrant colors. He’ll stand out as the Boss on the tabletop even if he’s just one green little Gobbo.

The color scheme gives me some No Man’s Sky vibes.

Yep happens for me too on the website. Doesn’t happen on the android app for me though.

I hope there is a fix soon. It makes the website really hard to use for some simply browsing and scrolling atm.

Favorite deep and larger solo games?

With the question for smaller solo games already posted I want to ask if any of you got some large and deep solo games. I'm usually someone who does enjoy longer, bigger and deeper games (not saying small games can't be deep). But when things get more involved and complex, that's where I feel at home....

What do you mean by custom fluff? Like little add-ons and kit bashes? Freehands?

By the way that marine looks sweeeeet.

I guess my generation would call that a story. Yeah I do that sometimes.

That's not too high of a bar now is it.

We default to Munchkin when nothing else seems obvious. Games get long with 7 or more people because someone can always sabotage the leaders victory. But the game is still hilarious and gleefully fun to us after all these years.

Warlock. The built in flavor is amazing and allows easy roleplay options and background story tie ins even for new players and new GMs.

Also I enjoy Charisma based classes since it opens up social skills and I enjoy being the face role for the group.

Lastly the invocations allow for fun customization options. And some spell casting without being reliant on long rest is also cool.

On reddit there is the miniature painting subreddit. I think it isn’t even blacked out but I can’t be bothered to look. Painting minis is a lot less difficult than it looks imo. It’s super rewarding because of how quick the initial learning curve is.

These are not that much work to assemble. Only the hands and weapons as well as the bases needed to be glued to the rest.

I also 3D printed the models myself which is extra work. But of course models can simply be bought from a hobby store or game store.

The cobblestone bases I made from air dry clay with a texture roller. I rarely print bases as I enjoy crafting them quite a bit. Although these are as simple as it gets.

Das ist wahr. Es wird dann zum Problem wenn das Eine das deutlich größere Problem ist, aber überwiegend das Andere thematisiert wird.

I deleted Twitter without replacement. It felt like I didn't need micro blog posts in my life and I still don't miss it months later.

Reddit I will miss I believe. Once RIF stops working, if things don't get resolved, I'll stop using it and likely delete my account. So far lemmy is a lot of fun and feels a bit like old wild west internet used to feel. Currently it works good enough for the time being and it'll surely improve.

Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master has already been mentioned a ton. It's amazing to give you a framework for session prep to build upon.

So let me add The Monsters Know what they are Doing. It's about giving enemies more tactics which are tailored to their stats and abilities. The book contains dnd 5e monsters but once you read it, you can apply the idea to any enemy on any game. I noticed I look at stat blocks differently after reading this book.

Lastly Blades in the Dark. Imo every GM should at some point run a short, several session adventure of this system. It's improv heavy and gives a lot of narrative control to the players. It changed my view on how to run several types of scenarios. And my ideas of what and how to prep. It's amazing how much I can leave to my players now in other systems too. Plus it's super fun.

Probably Leela. Feeling a bit like I am the only one of my kind sometimes.
