The magic dryer cycle didn't do much on the wrinkles 😐 time to fog up the bathroom or actually go find the goddamn iron

Robotron,

@ToweroftheArchmage hrm I did neither! Is that what I should do??

Robotron, to random

This is perfect- sealed records always make me nervous, they can warp and other unpleasantness. This record has been sealed for 50+ years BUT when they cut out the corner they made a hole in the plastic. Preventing warping. And it's a great great record too and haha so quiet

Robotron, to random

I bought a new shirt and took the pins out and it's all wrinkly of course and I remembered that this dryer we bought in December has this weird long ass WRINKLE REMOVE cycle that's optional so trying it out right now!
Exciting things at Chez Robotron
listening to Haydn forgot to take a picture

there's a scene in Marvels on Captain Marvel's ship and she's wearing a tight white T-shirt and the special effects are amazing

Robotron,

@Alisca ahhhhhhhh it just came up on Disney eh I absolutely need to see Brie wait I mean The Marvels

Robotron, to random

i know eh an even numbered Beethoven what is up with that?!
I like this though I especially love the first couple minutes it is SO SLOW and so quiet and you wonder if it's the right side of the record because when you think of the big Beethoven symphonies - the 3rd the 5th the 6th the 9th - they all have BOOM POW beginnings.
It IS weird being between the 3rd and 5th and only being "good" rather than transcendent but like hrm maybe it's his Bossanova

Robotron,

i met a couple Pixies fans that said Bossanova was their best and I'm like hrmm?

Robotron,

@trz hahah glad I'm not the only one that is like - the one before it was amazing, the one after it was amazing, was that the year they got a paperboy to write all the songs or something

Robotron,

@vieuxnez yes i LOVE THE PASTORAL it's incredible after the 9th it's my favorite

Robotron,

@trz see like Talking Heads never had a sophomore slump, Husker Du didn't the Replacements didn't Zeppelin sure af didn't Sabbath didn't - and I'm not saying that's not a LIE but when I think of bands where the 2nd album was waaaaaaaay worse than the 1st usually they just stop being a band! Dead Boys is one. Television is another (oh god now the Adventure fans will be after my head) Pixies weak spot was their 3rd record (or 4th if you count pilgrim)

Which leads to this great question

Robotron,

@trz what is the WORST sophomore slump from a band that carried on to have at least TWO more great records AND had a GREAT first album (so ahah My Bloody Valentine you sit down !)

Robotron,

@TROG @trz so this is interesting my wife is the massive Thin Lizzy fan in this house - honestly I think of their first record and Shades as like one double record where they don't know if they're rockers or trying out to be Van Morrison Jr - but if you're a huge fan and you think s/t is amazing (and it has that "Honesty Was No Excuse" song one I love) and Blue Orphanage sucks I'll believe you!

Robotron,

@trz but Chicago had as you say there, they had more than a few albums with Kath. Kath is great.

David Foster ? The Man in Motion David Foster? From Canada??

Robotron,

@TROG Vagabonds is pretty special!! ahaha my wife absolutely 200% loves loves Thin Lizzy so I'm pretty acquainted with them, especially when she's loaded she always puts on Jailbreak or...what's that record ... Black Rose.
Okay! Thin Lizzy is an entry in the True Sophomore Slump sweeps for sure

Robotron,

@Fran i'm not a U2 fan either but just by being alive at the time...I look at the song titles for Boy and War and recognize stuff but not on October which - I guess that's why they didn't call it Rocktober

Robotron,

@TROG ok my wife came home and I asked her and she agreed with you, she said the 2nd album is still OK but sounds like songs that weren't good enough for the first

Robotron,

@melissabeartrix @FiStitchWitch i would try that tea for sure! but it kinda looks like when you're a kid and painting watercolours and that's what you clean your brush off in

Back when I drank, I used to seek out Schlitz beer in America. It is a good beer!

In Canada I drank Pilsner.

A person responded to the skepticism shown by the justices by saying, "So we're just ignoring the Constituiton?"

That's the fault of pundits who led people to believe the issue is a slam dunk.

"Either we win this or the Constitution is in shreds!" might work in come contexts. Visualize Billy Flynn dazzling the jury.

Unfortunately statements like, "Either we win this or the Constitution is dead" was used to dazzle on-line and cable audiences.

Robotron,

@Teri_Kanefield i read your big piece a couple weeks ago, asked you a question i think and am not surprised with today.

The hubs was wondering why we stopped getting merit badges now that we are grownups, so he made himself some.

Robotron,

@kmmfoo @RickiTarr ahh I have a great obsolete skill:

Knowing the length of song you can get away with by just a glance at how much cassette tape is remaining while you're making your Awesome Mix
