Was also surprised. Looks very interesting!

Thanks for the info! Before that, I looked at the video of the gameplay and the game seemed interesting to me.

I like re3, reVC and reLCS. These are reverse engineered versions of GTA 3, Vice City and Liberty City Stories with improvements. Take Two has thrown a strike on the main repository, but you can still find mirrors or builds in the internet.

I don’t know, I compiled from source. If you use ArchLinux you can get re3-git, revc-git and relcs-git from AUR.

I running GNU/Linux on my Phone natively. And I use Waydroid layer to run Android apps. So I kinda doing the opposite 😄

It’s PinePhone Pro. Camera works badly, but at the time of purchase, it did not work, so we are slowly getting there. Banking apps work through Waydroid.

It’s not practical to use GNU/Linux on the phone, but fun 🙂

Banking apps work through Waydroid for me.

I have some complains about Plamo, but nothing critical. It’s nice to see DE evolving. I use ArchLinux.

I would say it works okay. It’s far from Android, but we are getting there. When I first bought the phone Plasma Mobile was too immature for me, I used Phosh. I switched to Plasma a few month ago. Phosh also improves, right now animations are smoother, but I do not like the UX. At the moment there are no push notifications, swipe touch typing, some important applications are not tailored for the phone, there are minor bugs in Plasma Mobile, etc. But all this things are not important for me, so I daily drive it 😁 You can also run Android apps using Waydroid.

The most issue with PinePhone Pro for me is the chip. RK3399s is super hot and hungry, the phone holds about 1.5 hours. So I would recommend to buy the Pine keyboard which provides additional battery for the phone. There is even a phone + keyboard bundle on the Pine store.

Right, DanctNIX, but it’s basically ArchLinux ARM with additional repo with mobile and Pine specific packages. Yes, there are preconfigured images, but I prefer barebone ones 😉

Sure, always report!

What are your favorite plugins?

I've been absolutely loving treesitter. It's come a long way and it's been absolutely great for things like folds, motions, highlights of course. Now that I've finally gotten familiar with writing my own queries I can extend the existing plugins. As an example I've added folds to blocks of multiple consecutive comments in JS and...

I think that my favorite is noice.nvim. I like the looks it makes :)

I don’t know how many people in this sub/magazine/community would consider themselves experts in the realm of retro handhelds, but I suspect the average knowledge here is a bit higher than “the old place”. But, as more and more users migrate (fingers crossed!), I thought it might be a good idea to have a space where users...

I have RG280V. And I use PinePhone Pro that runs GNU/Linux with telescopic controller to play some heavy games.

Waiting for a small ARM handheld with GNU/Linux that can handle PS2.

Is it possible to run it on Linux? I would like to run it on my PinePhone.

Shatur,

Wondering if it runs on PinePhone Pro.

I use RG280V for games up to PS1 and my Phone with telescopic controller for harder to run games.

Curious about people's experiences with the PinePhone (not pro). Is anyone daily driving it? For those who have it and are not, what are the showstoppers?

I used it for some time. Software wasn't ready. Now software improved a lot (still far from Android of course), but the phone is slow for me, so I ordered PinePhone Pro and now I use it as a daily driver.

It’s Backbone One controller. Works out of the box (including pass-through charging and USB audio), but some applications don’t detect buttons correctly, so I remapped them using xboxdrv.
