I am not surprised at how quickly companies have shifted to AI support. I forsee a frustrating future for anyone looking to get help with anything in the future.
I find myself calling into support just to be sure that I’m talking to an actual person rather than brain dead ‘Ai’ systems that are more useless than a well made faq.
A taxpayers’ advocacy group wants Toronto’s incoming mayor to give the city’s plan to host a handful of games during the 2026 World Cup the red card. (JOANNA LAVOIE/CP24)
This is unfortunately something that we can only look at past events and how they preformed. If I remember correctly, Toronto isn’t building any new stadiums just for the World Cup games so they stand to make more money as there won’t be that huge need for infrastructure projects that would eat into the revenue generated by people coming to the city.
Here is an article showing potential breakdown on cost/profits that should be coming to the city. But again, we won’t know the full numbers until afterwards.
Mine has to be Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime, a DS spin off of the Dragon Quest series that sees you playing as a slime operating a tank and rescuing the people from your town. I feel that when it first came out all my podcasts that I was listening to at the time were talking about it for at least 6 months. It really got its hooks into me and I also come back to it occasionally as well.
Noclip did a doc about it recently (youtu.be/GtNvEna6bxc). I remember seeing it for the first time at a buddies place growing up, but I didn’t have a strong enough computer to run it. I did though when black and white 2 came out and it was awesome! I feel the only thing comparable to it currently is the Anno series, no spells or anything but just city management and stuff.
The project was previously rejected by the city in 2017 amid community concern about the tall building’s architectural disconnect with historic Chinatown and the lack of social housing, which has continued to motivate opposition. Proponents, on the other hand, believe the project will economically revitalize the area.
I don’t understand this obsession with ‘architectural disconnect’ argument, who cares if it doesn’t look the same as the surrounding buildings. It’s just another tool for NIMBY’s to use to shut down progress, personally I love it the mix and match of buildings architecture, it makes traveling through cities visually interesting! I don’t want this strange suburban hell where all buildings are copy-pasted all over the place, let your areas have some variety
From what I remember it that is true, he let another developer give it a shot since he had no interest/experience in IOS development. Maybe he'll do it again and a more dedicated developer will be able to complete the port this time.

The more I hear about this the more I'm shocked that this death trap was allowed to operate at all! It seems on the level of that bear suit guy, super dyi energy but with no real use case.
It's decent enough for now. For sure feels like an alpha, but I can't wait for Sync to port over I've been using it since 2012 so it's been tough to migrate to a new platform/app.
Reddit's CEO Faced Intense Criticism Over Killing a Popular Third-Party App, Apollo. His Response Is What No Leader Should Ever DoThe company's new API access fees are supposed to generate revenue. Instead, they're alienating everyone. Inc.
I doubt he would listen to anyone, and it seems like there was no plan at all to conceal the fact that they just wanted to kill all the apps and push users to the official one.
This whole lie about 'we only want to make money on people using our data for AI' is bullshit and they know it, they could have easily locked down the API and then charged different rates for different companies depending on their intended use. But lumping it all in the same cost structure let's them get away with killing apps entirely.
This is mostly just for discussion, but this is my PC's current state. I do want to do a full custom watercooled setup sometime but I'm wondering if anything is screaming out "upgrade me, I'm old". I mostly game and do CAD design/3D printing. Some photoshop and After Effects work every now and then. What would you upgrade?
Yeah that's the only thing on the list that I could see a possible improvement in performance in. I'm waiting on a good price for an x3d and I'm coming from an 5600x. Outside of that there won't be much of an improvement anywhere.
I'm surprised that this wasn't something that was already implemented. When I was in highschool in the early 2000's cellphones would be instantly taken away if they were spotted by a teacher during class.
I don't understand parents needing constant contact with their children. As a kid I would've hated that, helicopter parenting x1000.
Understandable, but I doubt much bullying is happening during class time, where I feel that having cellphones put away would be the most beneficial. Several times I've been asked to put my cellphones in pouches that set off alarms when opened during small comedy shows/concerts, I feel that might be an alright solution to in class device lock down. Then when the class is over phone can come out.
In terms of bullying I think that's more a failure of the education system that these students don't have someone to turn to, in the faculty, to deal with it. It sucks because I couldn't imagine what bullying is like now in the digital age. I always felt that teachers and admins never got enough power to deal with severe bullying without blow back from parents.
Suuuper curious to see how this turns out. I didn't get through The Outer Worlds, something about it lacked the draw of exploration for me and it felt like a smaller more linear game. Hopefully this will be more like Oblivion/Skyrim with the world being more connected.
Hopefully, even though it's smaller, it feels more connected. I think that's what I was missing from the outer worlds, it just felt so did jointed. I should Go back and give it another go though.
