hahahs one of Microsoft365โs outgoing mail serves got dinged by spamcop. I have just had to inform the fourth separate company that no, there is not a problem with our email server, you are on a global shitlist, you need to go speak to your mail admin.
Dried pasta (many types), tinned fish / spam / beans if you partake (jaffle stuffings), flour if you bake, corn flour at least for sauces, tinned tomatos, you basically build it around what you like and longer shelf life stuff
We have a non-obnoxious doorbell but every time a delivery guy abuses it GRAAAR
(Seriously. Itโs like 5m from my chair to the front door and iโm daily expecting deliveries for work. If you press the doorbell more than once in the time it takes me to traverse that distance, i should legally be authorised to commit violence. )
Woooo despite weathers best efforts got 90% of the pool table disassembled and shifted to the basement instead of the garage (havenโt moved the top, too damp for felt), got the uprights cut for the server rack and a bunch of space cleared. Thatโs my mild goals for the long weekend knocked off and fuck all else i have to do.
Eh, thereโs a difference between compensation for work and using laws and legislation to sew up something tighter than a cats arse for personal exploitation
Hi all, the private school I work at has a tonne of old windows 7/8 era desktops in a student library. The place really needs upgrades but they never seem to prioritise replacing these machines. Ive installed Linux on some older laptops of mine and was wondering if you all think it would be worth throwing a light Linux distro on...
Due to hardware reqs weโre tossing the idea at work to replace the Microsoft termserv with Linux. Due to the userbase being all windows fans weโd need a full on GUI and iโve been prodded towards Mint. Good idea or bad?...

yeah this still isnโt making sense in the context of what I said, or Australian labour laws.
literally, all employees in Australia except casual workers are entitled to paid sick and carers leave. Thatโs federal law. Itโs 10 days for full time workers, pro-rata for part time. So when I say itโs already baked into your salary, I literally mean that. They have already calculated for it in your wages.
Nah, fuck that. Sick pay is literally built into your contract as an entitlement. If you get it, your yearly salary as presented to you as your employment already accomodates x days sick, same as x days holidays. You canโt โabuseโ it, if you run out of sick leave then it comes out of annual, or you donโt get paid. There is no rort, itโs already part of your farking salary.
We throw a bit over our mortgage every month into our offset. The offset account is nearly 40k, and it counts towards โpaid offโ for interest purposes. Itโs worth doing as it can grow your offset, and reduce your payments. Think of it as extra payments you can โclaim backโ if need be.
