I am trying to switch away from Lemmy.world after getting used to Lemmy to reduce the stress on their servers and add to the decentralized nature of Lemmy.
It’s complicated, but in a nutshell, their users have faced discrimination and unpleasant communication from some of the other instances, hence they decided to wall themselves in (it’s a very inclusive community, so it’s a bit ironic)

Ow, that hurts… But on the other hand, when it came out, it was cutting edge tech if you were in the mac ecosystem! I remember seeing all those benchmarks and they fixed the fan throttling issues compared to the previous 15" macbook pros and had newly improved, studio-level mics/speakers 😄
I have a M1 air, and while it runs circles around the beefier intel macs, the screen and the speakers are shit. I wish I had waited for the M1 pros to drop… I guess it’s the circle of life, haha!

Others have made great points; I’d like to add my favourite: you can play rain sounds from Spotify (and iOS devices can do this without any subscriptions from the Hearing CC toggle)!
It helps me during nights I have a lot on my mind :)
As a iOS user, same could be said about Android. It looks bad and is unintuitive to use for me. It’s about ecosystems and people getting used to one thing over the other!
