Sylvester Stallone's Rocky origin story is punching its way onto the silver screen with Peter Farrelly directing (www.joblo.com)

A struggling actor with a partially paralyzed face and a speech impediment writes a script that a big movie studio wants to buy, but he refuses to sell it unless he gets to play the lead. Turning down an offer of life-changing money, he instead works for pennies to get the movie made with himself in the starring role. The movie...

I was just saying to someone that I think Riddick is one of those characters who are better the less you know about them, like the original film.

Of course all the sequels try to answer those questions.

On the other hand, the Xbox game, Escape From Butcher Bay, was one the better film tie-ins I’ve played.

My comments on this matter have already been made on other social media sites. 😆

The problem is the country is in such a fucking mess, it will take Labour years to try and sort it out. The fact Starmer won’t even think about joining the single market is stupid too. Probably appeasing the Brexit Labour voters.

Yeah, great film with an awesome soundtrack. I’ve owned it on VHS and DVD, but I never got around to the Blu-ray. To fix that, it’ll probably be the next 4k i pick up.

Star Wars – The Phantom Menace: still terrible after all these years? (www.theguardian.com)

Can it really be that there are Star Wars fans who see George Lucas’s Episode I – The Phantom Menace, once considered the emblem of everything that went wrong with the long-running space saga, as a bona fide classic ripe for rehabilitation 25 years on? As the much-derided 1999 film returns to cinemas this weekend, there are...

Having a huge love for the original trilogy, could a new film possibly have any chance with the hype that came before it.

Short answer, no.

I rewatched the prequel trilogy a few years ago, hadn’t watched them for over a decade. In my opinion, Phantom Menace actually comes out best of the three. Possibly because there’s a lot of practical work and the following films were pushing a lot of early digital and it hasn’t held up well.

This seems to be standard practice these days. The gap between cinema and physical media seems to be getting shorter.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire hits digital (in the US at least) on Tuesday and that’s only been in the cinemas for 46 days.

Thanks for posting this. The article I posted at !homevideo never mentioned there were different tiers of set, only the most expensive one of $130! Quite happy to see there’s a $36 film only set.

I don’t think they have their open official app but they offer their API free to developers I think.

I’m on Android and I’ve been through several TMDB apps but I don’t really like any of them. I do know that Letterboxd use their API as well but that’s a more social based thing.

Thank you, I’ll give that a go.

The review was very interesting because it sounds like they fucked up by saving money. The whole film has been compressed onto a 66gb disc. In comparison, if you have access to that kaleidoscope service where you can stream the original 4K files, it is a 87gb download. So paramount have compressed the film buy about a third, causing the film to look worse than it should.

I feel the trailer gave away most of the film! I will see it at some point, not in a rush.

One of my wife’s favourite films! This is a definite purchase!

I’m just a bitter middle-aged man. 😆

And remember, the tenth 4K film you buy is just one penny! 😄

I’ve just found out from another article that there are four different levels of gubbins. If you want just the film, it’s $36.
