Hi! I’m currently on my second playthrough of The Last of Us: Part 2. The first time around, the PS5 patch was released a week after I completed the game, so now I’m enjoying the 60FPS upgrade. I have a stack of games to get through and as a parent, my time is limited. I have Death Stranding, Skywalker Saga, Cyberpunk 2077 and probably a few more I’m forgetting. :-)

I don’t normally play games through twice but after the excellent HBO adaptation, I wanted to play the games again. So it was my third time on the original game using the PS4 remastered version for the second time and the second time with the PS5.

I never played both games one after the other like this, so now the storyline makes more sense and I’m enjoying it a lot more than the first time. I have such a bad memory.

My DVDs, or at least 99% of them, were all catalogued in DVDProfiler which I checked on the other day and is still going strong. I have a bookmark somewhere where you can access my list via a web page.

All my Blu-rays and 4Ks are catalogued in the Blu-ray.com app. That’s been pretty handy as it’s stopped my double dipping by accident a few times.

To be honest, I barely watch any of my DVDs now, especially as most of them are region one and I no longer have a region-free player. I do have an external laptop drive set to region one, so if I really want to, I can rip the disk to a file.

Most of my favourite stuff has been upgraded to Blu-ray anyway or if need be a streaming service. Although, just sometimes, I browse through my DVDs to remind myself what I have and if there’s anything I’d like to watch again.

I thought this would be an interesting read but to be honest, I stopped at soon as I saw the placard that said “CO² isn’t a pollutant.” Climate change already gives me anxiety, so to see someone dismiss proven science just makes me angry.

Didn’t one of the farmers groups/unions push for them to vote for brexit?

Babylon 5: The Complete Series Is Coming to Blu-ray for the First Time (www.tor.com)

In celebration of the show’s thirtieth anniversary, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment (say that three times fast) is releasing the series on Blu-ray this December. All 110 episodes have been remastered in HD, and the set also includes Babylon 5‘s pilot movie, The Gathering....

According to The Digital Bits, the series was shot on film, so anything live action was scanned at 4K and down sampled to HD. As the original CG shots were created in SD, they’ve been upscaled to HD.

No point with my MP. He always does what the Tory line is. He was one of the few MPs that turned up for the Boris thing and voted that it was wrong he should be suspended for 90 days.

At the recent local elections, I think Labour made two door stop visits and all we got from the Tories was a leaflet.

Everytime someone mentions The Others, all I can think of is Lost! 😁

“oh Liz, that was wonderful! How was it for you?” “That. Was. A. Disgrace!”

Baz Bamigboye, ex-entertainment columnist for the Daily Mail and also used to work at The Sun. Makes sense.

Last year I completed couch to 5k during spring and was regularly running until I stopped in September. Not sure why I did.

I’ve been meaning to start again just couldn’t get started. Today something changed and I went out thinking I could carry on where I left off. Body said no.

Downloaded the C25K and completed week one, run one. Starting from scratch again but I’ve finally started.

I’ve listened to all the samples again and I still think Jo Whiley is the best. I started with Laura yesterday but it just wasn’t the same so I’m going to switch back.

I know. I’ve been meaning to start again for months while the weather has been good.

I used to put this on to drift asleep to. Fantastic soundtrack.

UKFilmNerd,
@UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk avatar

Recently I completed Crossing Souls. It’s a game overloaded with 80s nostalgia. The soundtrack is from two composers. The first has 80s synth tracks while the other providers John Williams / Amblin like scores as the story of a group of young friends and feels like a movie from that time.

I’m not surprised. There was a tweet from Ed Soloman, one of the writers on Men In Black, some time ago now, showing his yearly statement of residuals on that film.

Despite making almost $600m on a $90m budget and spawning a franchise, he was informed by the statement that the film was a loss for Sony and the studio is still in the red.

I remember the Reddit posts which drove me green with envy. Such great films for just a few dollars including 4K releases as well. Here in the UK I just find the same old big blockbuster films that I’ve already got or have no interest in.

No worries for creating a post. I thought I would try and be more creative than just a reader and lurker.

I can see the image and I love that Bioshock design. It’s ironic because I’ve seen the old green special Terminator 2 VHS boxes that have now gone rusty with age.

UKFilmNerd,
@UKFilmNerd@feddit.uk avatar

My house is so small, I don’t have any VHS although back in the day I had some lovely box sets.

All my DVDs are in cd wallets. The blurays are in binders with their inlays. The only ones that get to survive intact are 4Ks and any Blu-ray or DVD that’s in special packaging or means something special to me so it’s kept as is.

You’ve reminded me of when Battlefield: Bad Company was first released on Xbox360 (and maybe PS3, I don’t remember) EA released a more expensive gold steelbook edition where everything was unlocked from from the start with an included code.

I’m playing through The Last of Us: Part 2 for the second time. I was inspired by watching HBO’s adaptation, so I played through part one remastered and then started on Part 2 on my PS5. It’s even better this time around as the PS5 60fps patch was released about a week after I first completed it!

Then I’ve got a stack of other large games to get through including Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077.
