The old one tore between the pocket springs, it was about 12 years old, I got a really sore back sleeping on it one night. Had to sleep at the foot end whilst waiting for the new one to turn up…it has been 3 weeks. Looking forward to a good nights sleep tonight.
I know, the hole kept getting worse till we bit the bullet. We got really lucky also, the day we decided that a new bed was required…Farmers were having a 50% off bed sale…so epic win
I have been using a Dell one at home for ages, it seems to work well. I have used it with my Linux Mint laptop, my partners Chromebook and my Galaxy phone.
I’m very far from a sports fan…I literally do not watch any sports.
I don’t get why he bothered to apologise, unless the video on stuff wasn’t the entire incident… He gives the guy a little ankle tap. From reading the apology, I thought he fucked him up, which is why I bothered to watch at all.
I guess it could be possible, but looking at the XMPP <-> GoogleTalk situation, it is very unlikely.
Embrace the open standard
Extend it with some propriety add-on, and because you have 1000 times users, you now become the "standard"
Extinguish the open version of the standard because users expect that all the things should work together; and now the open versions are considered “less” because they cannot work with the propriety bits.
I know there are addons, but would be nice to have something native built in instead of having to trust an addon. Current method without addons that I know of is creating a container then deleting it, but that's not as convenient and pretty cumbersome....
I finally got a VM spun up on one of the servers…I will be setting up my engineering workstation…so installing software for the next two days (at least)
If the descentralization of social networks continue, we will have to prepare for the eventual rise of the instances wars, where people will start to fight about which instance is better and which one is weird to be in and so on, but that’s for the future of us all.
This is why the rest of the world uses l/100km (liters per 100 kilometers), the comparison is linear and thus comparable between different vehicles in a simple manner.
5mpg = 20g/100mi
10mpg = 10g/100mi
40mpg = 2.5g/100mi
55mpg = 1.82g/100mi
The difference between 10 and 20g is easy to see as a lot bigger than the difference between 2.5 to 1.82g. 15 is a much bigger number than 5, but that 15 is relative to the initial mpg rating
In fact going from 5mpg to 10mpg is better than going from 10mpg to 100mpg, a 10g saving vs a 9g saving…the more you know

If Lemmy and Mastodon continues to get popular, we will eventually get Instance wars.

What's a true fact that is so misleading it's borderline misinformation?
What would be some fact that, while true, could be told in a context or way that is misinfomating or make the other person draw incorrect conclusions?
