I’m in my early/mid forties and still feel lost occasionally.

I think it’s a thing about being an adult. It’s not to be feared but embraced. Besides, it means you are thinking and not just doing.

The wilderness gives you time to find your own direction.

Still, it is a little disquieting. You’ll make it through, I promise, but you’ll end up back there too.

If by us, you mean American christians, then sure.

Wait… The very notion of the seven deadly sins is a Christian construct… It only really applies to us anyway…

Ah. My bad. Carry on.

Rock it like a Brit. Most things in metric except for your height (feet and inches) and your car speed (miles per hour) and when you measure your manhood (inches… Or fractions thereof).

Also, milk is pints.

Land is acres.

And the ponies run furlongs.

Right you are g’vnor

My set up comfortably plays cyberpunk at dead fancy settings, but doesn’t meet the system requirements for windows 11.

Yeah, I’m going to rub out windows 10 as long as I can (although I dual boot Debian anyway).

That’s why it is stubbonky popular.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

I mean, I did mean run but also, yes, windows 10 is hot AF.

Sure you are not confusing this:

Emily Hewertson, a House of Commons press officer, was accused on social media of being the one who threw the milkshake at Farage and has been forced to deny it.

The staffer was contacted by a journalist at the Daily Mail, who asked her to confirm or deny it was her. She posted the message on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “No, I did not throw a milkshake over Nigel Farage.”

I mean this in the most positive way… I don’t believe you until you can show us how you did it

The image is lovely, but easily faked. I’ve been taking photographs with weird things for years and I still can’t get my head around this.

Show and tell and you have my adoration.

I’ll wait

Edit:

“> For sure.

It’s a canon Lide 30 scanner at its core. You have to remove the light source (a tiny RGB LED) and a pinhole array from the front of the sensor. Then I used a dremel to widen the slit the sensor looks through, to deal with some pretty severe vignetting. The optical assembly is made from foam board, gaffers tape and an acrylic lens liberated from a regular magnifying glass. I use a software called VueScan to perform the actual scan.”

Yeah. That’s pretty cool. Have the adoration you crafty fox.

(However, I like your idea, that seems like a cool way to make pictures)

I get it. We can’t buy houses, we can’t afford groceries.

Admittedly my parents couldn’t afford a house and we often had to skip on groceries too.

But as a kid of the 80s, the thing that gets me is how these memes seem to ignore inflation entirely.

Yes those numbers are lower but so were wages.

And of course we can can talk about real terms wage stagnation, but poverty is timeless and the 80s were an awful and unaffordable time for a lot of people.

But yeah. Sure.

And yet he’ll still get votes.

Whilst I’ve been waiting for this day for ages, it gives me no pleasure to realise it means very little.

adam_y,

Got through the whole article and they don’t say, “Fall of Duty” once.

What even is journalism these days?!?

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Surely Call of Out drops in Fall?

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Have to make it in AI because it will never happen in real life.

Fantasy bullshit.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Get yourself into photography. You don’t need anything expensive, if you have a phone camera, that will do.

Document the strange and interesting things in your environment. The people, the architecture.

It gets you out of the house a mission per day. It gives you a goal.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Genuinely, if it helps you feel better, you are always welcome to share your photos with me and tell me about them.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Well, yeah, but we are going to need a couple of monocles.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Hey, maybe the next leap will be the leap home?

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Sounds like a phenomenological situation … Or as we like to call it in the sciences, “not science”.

Love how this has gone from “researcher at x university” to “tip from a friend of mine” in less than 48 hours.

Just so you know, this isn’t just an ADHD thing.

Most folk experience it and it’s one of the main causes of burnout.

That said, it’s always worth checking that you are getting enough vitamin d and that your thyroid is working right.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

That. That sounds like it, coupled with frustration and feeling a bit overwhelmed.

It is cool to be exhausted after work if it fullfills you and you enjoy it, but most folk need the gaps between to be themselves.

adam_y,
@adam_y@lemmy.world avatar

Yes, do this if you want your work to have the same feel as every other writer who runs their work through an llm.
