i deleted my whatsapp account and because of that my parents and my friends couldn’t contact me, my parents asked me to install whatsapp again and i took my parent’s phone and installed signal on their phone to contact me. 😂

Android's devices without Google services, you can use it?

Hello! I’m actually using a Huawei P30. I love this device because had an amazing camera and spectacular chip. Because I had this good experience with Huawei I’m considering upgrade to a more new Huawei device but I know they don’t have Google services anymore so I’m curious if people who has no Google services can live...

I’m using LOS rom without gapp and it works fine for me, but there are problems like bank app not working properly and some apps need google services. For apps that don’t work, there are many alternatives out there.

If I’m not mistaken huawei has an app called gspace, it can run google apps as usual, so there seems to be no problem if you upgrade your phone.

I just realized geddit now only has 868 users, last time I looked it was up to 1.2k. I didn't expect that many spam accounts.

Some lemmy apps are still in development so I haven't tried any of them yet and stick to the web version.

What Does Federation Exactly mean?

hi guys, so I have migrated from reddit, I'm just confused what federation means exactly. what happens when I turn federation off in Kbin?

I didn't know kbin had this feature, if you turn off that feature it looks like you won't be able to get information from other instances.

As you know, kbin and other instances are connected to each other even though they are different instances, we call it fediverse.

Reddit is blocked in my country so I have to open reddit using dns, because lemmy is already there, this is an opportunity to find a community forum for a replacement for reddit in my country.

I live in indonesia, they have blocked reddit since 2014 so only a few people know that reddit exists. XD

It doesn't matter if it's a carpet to wipe your feet when you leave the bathroom so the floor doesn't get wet, but if it's like in the picture, hmm..

Imagine "something" (you know what that means) dropped on your carpet and left just like that, it would be better if you knew that and changed the carpet right away, but if someone else dropped "something" and just kept quiet.
