CBS reporting the Secret Service is in discussion with authorities how former President Trump would serve time in jail in NY state.

The right wing outrage network says this would guarantee Trump every state, a landslide across the board.

  1. $5. Juicy Jane's on Argyle.

Hand-cut slices of home-baked whole wheat bread, hearty as it gets, this bread with just butter is a meal.

Butter.

Generous helping of chunky home-made chicken salad. Celery. Seasoned just so.

Alfalfa sprouts

Green Pepper

Lettuce

Tomato

Slab of aged cheddar.

I was there.

At Maritime Mall, the Bonny Piper had $5 dinner; hand-carved chunk off an 18 hour cooked hip of beef, potatoes of choice and salad. Best roast beef I've ever had. Hearty portions.

De-greening decomposing CMYK.

Survive.

Laundry.

Crappy Tire? Weather?

Give out every last piece of personal information about myself that exists to a bunch of total strangers and a foreign government. Words cannot convey just how in love with this notion I am.

2FA x 2. I loathe 2FA with the heat of a thousand supernovae cubed.

Get in some exercise hiking to get groceries.

Movie? Some Trek?

I felt bad walking on Spring Garden yesterday.

A young Chinese woman had a sign asking folks to remember the Tiananmen Square massacre.

It was so brave of her. Even now, here, it's possible she may have consequences for it.

In the 21st century, as I noted earlier this week, massacres are now a pretty much daily event.

It's like school shootings in the US. They're now so common they're gone in a news cycle.

I guess this is just another reminder we're all headed the wrong damned way.

That thing where you wake up from a deep nap into darkness when you were expecting daylight so your brain advances your inside clock 12 hours and tells you PM is AM but that feels all wrong too so you don't know if it's day or night or what day or what night until something twigs and it all falls into place but for a few moments there you were in a bubble of not-time cut off from all reference.

It sure seems like if you get old enough without someone punching your lights out when you start spouting insulting stupid shit, you turn into a total cunt that's good for nothing except spouting insulting stupid shit.

Most recent example: Richard Dreyfuss.

Fucker's gone full glinner. Musta been bit by a rabid rogan or something.

Oh I completely agree that it works to fool a rump of the populace, but it's utterly bankrupt - vulture venture capitalism as politics and policy.

Stripmine resources for that dollar today, no ken for consequences of the short-sighted "gains" posted. Money flows to backers and the wealthy, everyone else gets lies and libertarian austerity.

I know absolutely zero people intending to vote for a conservative government (whatever branding it goes by in your region) will hear this,

but,

if jingoistic slogans and total disinformation were effective tools for solving major societal issues that actually improved anything at all, Russia would be a string of crystal cities floating at cloud top instead of the unmaintained infrastructure selection of disasters-waiting-to-happen it actually is.

You'd think folks'd know better, huh.

I think my cat, now about 6 months old, is finally cluing in to the meanings of good cat and bad cat and making the connection that good cat gets rewarded with treats and wet food and bad cat is explicitly solely its own reward with no other benefits.

I was getting a bit worried the connection wasn't being made. Bad cat has done a real number on my blinds and his potential for destruction has been growing as his size has.

Watched Late Night With The Devil (2023)

It's got a ludicrously long string of logos of all the outfits getting producer credits at the start - another example of diminishing returns in action, but once the show gets started it's not a bad ride.

This 'found footage' movie sets up an alternate 1977 where a syndication network, UBC, has a live late night talk show eager for ratings that runs the ultimate desperate Sweeps Week Halloween show.

A tight 90 min movie. More would have been less.

Fallout 4 major update is interesting.

I had pretty much played the game into the ground and hadn't picked it up since the lockdown a few years back.

I discovered there was a 58 GB detailed textures upgrade, which took the afternoon to download. Game's never looked more detailed.

The new missions are ok. The couple I've done were paint-by-numbers straightforward.

The Tesla Cannon is fun. Blatts radscorpions in one shot.

Raiders don't know what hit them. Tends to really shorten arguments.

The Internet Archive has been back online for a few hours now.

Major kudos to their tech people.

There's been a lot of speculation as to motivations for taking the Internet Archive and the Wayback Machine offline but nothing of substance has yet come out.

Nothing good.

Who knew the answer to murder was more and more murder.

Then more on top of that.

I see the word massacre in the headlines each and every day now.

The new normal is death. Constant death.

Funny how it doesn't work, being all final and everything. There's always more of whomever is being killed to have to keep killing.

Upping the brutality is just a case of diminishing returns at work, not the killing being more effective.

No one will change a thing though.

I'm not sure who needs to hear this but every monster, every last one, is mortal and is made out of meat.

Just meat. No magic, no superpowers, no nothing at all.

No arcane anything. No power of the gods or god or anything else.

Just walking, talking meat.

Period.

Several US Supreme Court Justices, the Republican ones, of course, are completely corrupt and dedicated to fascism.

And why fucking not?

Ethics do not get you handjobs from teens, or expensive gifts from billionaire fascists, or more money and adulation from them and their sycophants than God.

And best yet, you don't even have to pretend to be honest. Not even the littlest bit.

Fascists don't have to do anything at all to abide by laws they cannot be physically stopped from breaking.

I should crash out, try and sleep before the sun heats everything here up but nah, sleep and its raveling the sleeve of care ain't happening after me being sluglike yesterday all day with whatever that was.

So, on to this week's Doctor Who and a tall frosty generic brand V-8 juice to replace my salts.

Yeah I'm not going to be good for much today either.

McDonald & Dodds Season 4 is fine tuned in its season opener about the blues and the devil.

If you're someone likes the Columbo style detective genre, Knives Out assembling the pieces until the murderer is checkmated, then this is must-see TV.

#DS9 S4E24 The Quickening

Bashir: how did you get her to take us to the hospital? these aren't exactly the friendliest people

Dax: I gave her my hair clip

cut to a woman fussing with her hair and possibly looking into a mirror

I didn't notice it the first time I watched DS9, but it's more "women be vain" 🙃

Visualizing the evolving kal-toe structure in one's mind and aligning this discipline to one's body and physical movements so perfectly one does not have to rely on one's senses is exactly the kind of mental meditative exercise that's like logic cocaine to Vulcans.

Got zero work done today.

Got one positive thing done - set up annual check up - first step in taking care of myself.

Got blood work appointment. Since the province of Nova Scotia has blocked my Halifax house internet IP address I had to go out to a public computer to do that.

Way too hot out today for me. Damn near fainted on the sidewalk. Fan and water mister at home.

The thing about Twitter street brawling videos is how fast they desensitize you to random violence.

After you've seen a few, you just want to see one asshole lose hard and the other asshole keep pounding them until they're hamburger and beyond.

There's no right or wrong or morality or gentlemans' rules.

Just law of the jungle. And in the jungle they don't just kill, they disassemble the loser alive.

I used to think Twitter was a rich madman's psyche made large.

It's a product of this era.

adwright,
@adwright@mastodon.social avatar

Since Musk took Twitter over and made X in his own image, it's been endless videos of people going postal, graphic vids of 3rd world industrial accidents, people hitting the pavement after jumping, wildlife being eaten alive, murder vids of all description and today, for some not readily understood reason, 30 years of Simpsons couch gags.

21st century culture seems to be solely women with very large asses shaking them into cameras in what one assumes is supposed to be seductively.

A grim day today. Something's trying to kill me. I will kill it.

I will wipe out every single last one. I will torture them. I will rip them to unidentifiable fragments. The screams of their young will be music to my ears.

The slaughter will continue until there is nothing left to rend apart alive.

I want not just their deaths. I want them to be so psychologically damaged after death their reincarnations will be too broken to function and they choose death over rebirth.

Die. Screaming.

Bug.
