anathema,

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon

I am hoping to finish "The Book of Cold Cases" by Simone St James - a paranormal thriller and mystery that knits together two timelines

On Deck: "Briefly, a Delicious Life" a ghost story!

anathema,

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon I just finished it and liked it quite a bit. My first of hers was The Broken Girls which I adored and I am excited for Sundown!

pet peeve: using the word "refugee" for people who choose to stop using one social media website and start using another one

anathema,

@pierogiburo that one is a "block on sight" for me totally agree

When we exclude cishet men and women entirely, solely on the grounds that they are cishet, I sometimes wonder how many people we are excluding who simply don't know they're queer yet.

Note: we don't owe any other human being our company necessarily, and everyone has to assess for themselves what feels ok, safe, and fulfilling. But I just think about this a lot. I think it's totally valid to excuse ourselves from people who act out of alignment with our values, but queer people can also do that. Idk.

Email subject: Class of 2000 25 year reunion

Me: oh for fucks sake

Email opening line: Get ready, fam! We are planning a prom themed blow-out to celebrate 25 years of (in joke, in joke, and in joke). To secure the venue we have created a (crowdfunding) site with a goal of $20,000

Me: line mouth

Email: we have plenty of time between now and summer 2025, so just give a little whenever you have it

Me: no

Email: tickets will be $350

Me: oh my God Michelle, Jill, Kristin, and Katie what on earth

Email: attire will be black tie and formal

Me:
Hey y'all can remove me from this mailing list

Katie, a human I have not spoken to in 25 years: you always were a fucking buzz kill, don't be such a tight ass.

Me: report spam

anathema,

Truly you could not pay me to attend this shit show.

anathema,

Someone just replied-all to the 368 person cc and I just got 15 hits on my linked in profile. So boring.

anathema,

@pseudoramble they did this at our 15 year as well and the event never happened. IIRC some folks walked away with other people's crowdfunding money. It's extremely classy.

anathema,

@pseudoramble there are so many people in this email thread trying to sell multi level marketing stuff already, I cannot even.

Someone recently asked me why my handle is "Anathema"
It started as a goof. Before I came out as being a member of the trans family, my handle was Womantichrist and I had a laugh because anaTHEMa is a pretty little joke.

But on a more serious note, it comes from the Greek, Anatithenai: "to dedicate", used biblically to refer to something set aside or set apart as a sacrificial offering. Sacrifice, as in "to make sacred or holy"

So that's why. Now you know!

anathema,

@jdp23 thank you! 💜
