Don’t know what I did, but my shave was not the best today. I keep nicking myself on the same spot on the right side of my neck, and I’m not entirely sure why. Typically this doesn’t happen. I’ll figure it out. Outside of that, the shave was uneventful and easy-going.

AA Day 3! I was looking forward to this shave, due to this malarkey. A cooling shave was needed. The shave went off without a hitch. No complaints; no challenge.

AA Day 2! I typically don’t shave every day, so this is going to be an interesting month for me. Did a 2 pass shave (WTG & XTG). Not a bad shave. The underside of my jaw, though, remains to be a challenge area. My goal for the month is to master that area.
Overall, a very good shave to start the month. It was over 100F all day today (clocked my phone saying 105F at one point), and the AC on my side of my office decided it wanted to take some time off. Wonderful timing. At least my shave was cooling :)
I had a few nicks to being careless, but as usual, the slim worked incredibly well.

Really good shave today. Did 2 passes on my face and 3 on my jawline and neck, using 5-4-3 settings on my slim. On my neck I decided to try a different way than normal. Did top-bottom on pass one, bottom-top on pass two, then did right-left on pass three. My hair grows at a diagonal angle (mostly) and I had been trying to match that. Today (and yesterday), I decided to just go simple. Today’s shave showed me that simple might be the right answer. I’ll give this another go next time too. Probably won’t shave tomorrow for a break before AA.

Did things a little different today. 1) I shaved after my shower, and 2) I said, “screw beard mapping!” and just did an down, across, and up shave on my 3 passes. Settings on the Slim were 5-5-3. Overall, not a bad shave at all. My beard grows at an angle, so it wasn’t the closest shave, but it was comfortable. I think my next shave I’ll try down, up, across (from the middle of my neck outward) and see how that goes.

First off, I need to say thanks to /u/mitosismonkey on reddit for sending me a smush of both Kryptonite and Sonder. I really appreciate it. Kryptonite is a fantastic lather, but I’m not entirely sold on the scent. It’s very nice, but I would see myself reaching for Sea Ice Lime over Kryptonite personally. My overall shave was good, but I had two issues: 1) got a little quick going around my upper lip and cut myself slightly, and 2) got cocky on my neck and did touch-ups without lather. Very stupid. Still, though, since I had my Slim on 3 during that time (for the ATG pass) it wasn’t even that bad. I just have to quit being stupid :)
Overall, a good shave with the Slim, using 5-4-3 on the WTG-XTG-ATG passes.

Shave #2 with my Slim. Decided to do 2 passes on the face and 2+ on my neck. Last shave I did a straight 3 run, but today I did 5 on my WTG and lowered it 3 on the XTG. Then on the cleanup I went to 2. Solid shave, if not the smoothest since I didn’t do a ATG pass plus my technique.

Purchased a 1966 Gillette Slim Adjustable razor (L4) on eBay, and it arrived today. Decided to give it a go after work. Stuck it on 3, and did 2 passes on my face and 3 on my neck. Zero irritation and a smooth shave; it is, indeed, a very nice razor. I can see why they were, and still are, so popular. I stuck it on 3 since I’m used to Henson razors and am used to mild razors. I think I’ll bump up my first WTG pass to a 5 next time I shave to see how it is. Still need to work on my technique (especially since my neck hair grows at an angle), but I have no regrets about this purchase.

Day 3 in a row of 2 pass shaves. Actually think this resulted in a better shave than yesterday’s shave with the mild (+) Henson. Still have one part of my neck that feels like I keep missing (my growth is at an angle, so it seems like I’m missing the right side of my jaw near the end of my natural shaving motion, if that makes any sense). I’ll get there eventually. Think I’m going to take tomorrow off, as a Gillette Slim Adjustable I ordered off of eBay should be here Saturday. Don’t want to overdo it and ruin my skin before that arrives!

Decided to shave with only 1 day of rest instead of 2 for a couple of reasons. 1) just to try, and 2) to prepare for AA. I only did 2 passes, and I think it was fine. I’m going to go for broke and shave again tomorrow. Also working on better mapping my facial hair for a better shave (I’m like 70% there).

Decided to go back to the (+) Henson with my trusty perma-sharps. A very good shave indeed, but I got in my head a little. I thought my neck hair was growing in a different way than I had previously believed, so I shaved with this new info in mind. I think I was wrong. Not a bad shave, but not the smoothest. I’ll correct that on my next shave and see how that goes.

A nice result in the end, but honestly not the most comfortable shave I’ve had (didn’t help that I nicked a scab :/ ). I think I’ll go back to my (+) Henson on my next shave with my trusty Perma-Sharp blades to compare against my past several (+++) shaves.

First time using Treet blades; not sure if I’m a fan or not. Jury is still out on whether I like my (+++) or (+) Henson more. It does seem like I get a better shave with the mild, but I don’t know if that is just because I’ve been using it for a good bit longer. Time will tell, but I’ll be selling one of them eventually.
