The thing that dawned on me when I watched it as an older adult was his sheer selfishness. Smug, cliched little prick. His father’s violence aside, what about the rest of his family?
As a big supporter and consumer of Aunty’s content for over three decades now, I have to turn my back. The quality of the writing and the basic proofreading notwithstanding, the editorial choices are now such a turn off.
The click bait headings that all other news sources discarded back in 2015 are still being used, and the focus on individual, anecdata designed to either rage bait or pull at heartstrings is just plain condescending and manipulative.
I don’t want to read 50 different articles about a single mum with 8 children and 4 more on the way who’s struggling with childcare costs.
I don’t want to read about a DINK couple who are struggling with repayments on their investment property.
There’s real issues at the core of both of these that once would be explored with journalistic vigor, but these Women’s Day style pieces are just infuriating crap.
Fuck the LNP for their years of cuts and fuck Ita Buttrose.
Sorry for my rant below, it’s not relevant to what you’ve posted.
I agree. Seems like we’ve given this guy ample opportunity to make a life here, and to be a good dad. It’s very sad for his family, but yeah he’s got to go.
I am a reasonably tech savvy person. I like working out how things work. When I install a new app or software, the first thing I do is go look at the settings to see what it can do, what I can customise etc.
I don’t know how long Pinterest has existed but I have no fucking clue how it works. Everytime I’ve spent more than a few minutes there, I just end up getting infuriated and leave. I genuinely have no idea what it is for.
Is it just a digital mood board for American white conservative women? Does it have another purpose???
Eh for me it’s about 60hrs. They’re minor hallucinations at that point and you’re still lucid enough to understand that they’re not real. But it just further cements that you’re being tortured by your own body. I see things in my peripheral vision, mostly. Things crawling on the floor, liquid running down the walls, faces are distorted until I look at them front on. It’s not a good time.
I think it’s just how they drink filtered coffee. I mean, I’ve drunk my fair share of filtered coffee but with a dash of normal milk and no sugar. So I think adding creamer is a similar approach (although I’m not positive it has sugar in it).
Over reliance on algorithms has degraded the user experience to the point that the average user is drowning in ragebait and extremist politics, because they drive up engagement. Genuinely feel for people who have to spend time in enclosed spaces with you.
Congratulations for winning the genetic lottery with the robustness of your teeth, but brushing is also about hygiene. Body odour isn’t physically bad for you, but it is for everyone who has to be near you. Same with your breath.

At first I was bemoaning the lack of content here, but honestly if I’d posted this on Reddit, either it would get lost in the noise, or there’d be 50 comments taking the piss/laced with gatekeeping and sarcasm.
Everyone’s being really helpful. I’m genuinely chuffed.
Damn. You’ve really elegantly explained one of my favourite things. It’s winter where I am, so I’m doing the ‘more than one during the day just to warm up, temperature equal to surface of the sun’ showers. Can’t wait for the midday beer shower. So many months away.
Yeah no one should be hurt, wet or out of pocket. The empty cup is an easy and anonymous (so no confrontation) way of letting the person know they’re being inconsiderate.

I’ve been thinking of ‘solving’ the creamer issue for myself lately and then I saw Hoffman’s video. What do you swear by?

How often do you brush your teeth? Sure, we’ve all been told the ‘twice-a-day’ , but how many of us strictly follow it?...
