Working from a high speed train in Europe is making me feel like I’m in Mission Impossible. Waiting for a man in a trench coat to sit across from me and offer me a usb drive with a NOC list
@fmarini I ended up meeting up with a friend who was also in town and we just strolled around kinda aimlessly. We wound up at Castello Sforzesco and it was really cool!
@charliemchapman Just got back from Rome and Cinque Terre (plus many other places). Get to Levanto if you feel like skipping the crowds in 5terre. You can rent a bike and ride around Levanto and the nearby Bonassola through a dedicated bike path that goes through tunnels. Much quieter and calm (my favorite part of 5terre). Levanto has a nice little plaza to walk around in and eat plenty of focaccia and pastries.
What's everyone's go-to travel power bank these days?
I have and love the Anker MagSafe one, but I also like to carry a 10,000mAh one for wired recharging or my MacBook and I think I lost mine. Would love one with a built-in USBC cord
@charliemchapman just got this recently and its awesome! No wireless charging but it includes a USB-C cable AND a 65W charger which a lot of power banks I’ve seen don’t provide at all. It’s the max mah you can take on an airplane and can charge a MacBook. It’s also on sale right now.
I would be amazing if I could “Mac Mirror” from an iPad Pro just like I can from Vision Pro, but it would run from my MacBook sitting closed in my backpack
It would be the perfect portable computer on planes, coffee shops, etc where I’m more than happy to give up the big screen
@charliemchapman@BenRiceM So when I am mobile and I need to do day job work (aka Xcode) or record a podcast, I use a 15" Air. (Awesome laptop BTW.) But otherwise I generally use my iPad Pro (12.9” now, 13" as soon as UPS delivers it 😅) for just about everything else, including editing podcasts, reading books and comics, web browsing, etc.
At home I have a similar dynamic: my Mac Studio is the Xcode, recording and PC gaming machine while the iPad retains all of its use cases.
@jamie_blumberg@BenRiceM I often really find myself wanting to but I just can't do so much of what I need to do on iPadOS. Largely developer related stuff. But also no mograph tools or podcast recording ability mean I basically always have to carry the MBP around with me anyway
