@vwbusguy admittedly, I haven't checked it out but it sounds so limited. Pixel Launcher doesn't quite cut it so AOSP doesn't sound very full featured.

No. This was still an RCS conversation. It's just not encrypted. She's on Android.

@vwbusguy I believe that if you can do RCS, you can do the encryption. It's in the messenger app. Isn't it?

@vwbusguy But no one has lost RCS. Look at the bottom of my screenshot.

I read that whole page already and the only hint I saw was that eligible texts are automatically encrypted. I get that non RCS conversations aren't eligible. I see no explanation for RCS texts that are not encrypted.

Two separate things. RCS will still be used, only encrypted via the MLS protocol.
