That makes sense. I’m curious to see what kind of heresies would appear for various Pagan or Eastern faiths.

From what I read, the Fervor threshold for heresies is 40%. I also saw a mod online that causes Fervor to gravitate toward a lower value, so that most faiths’ Fervor doesn’t stick at 90%-100% anymore. I’ll have to look into it some more. Thanks!

I’m not sure I follow your meaning.

“Wanting to have sex with someone else who is attractive” is “a normal human emotion,” as the commenter above you acknowledged. I don’t think anyone would deny that there’s a fundamental biological mechanism at work there.

Being outraged that a performer you’ve never met (who has no personal obligation to you) is in a relationship, and then having your outrage justified by an apology? That’s not the same. That’s not just biology. That’s culture. It’s the result of taking the “biological reason” - or “normal human emotion” - and wringing it through a targeted marketing campaign and culture of idolatry designed to cultivate unhealthy parasocial relationships for the sole purpose of extracting profit.

Good catch. Combined two decades between three authors… so an average of 6.6 years of experience

Thanks! My “subscribed” feed seemed to be the same as “all,” but logging out and logging back in fixed it for me.

Why a financial regulator is going after health care debt (www.npr.org)

the CFPB has done its share of policing mortgage brokers, student loan companies, and banks. But as the U.S. health care system turns tens of millions of Americans into debtors, this financial watchdog is increasingly working to protect beleaguered patients, adding hospitals, nursing homes, and patient financing companies to the...

the agency is developing rules to bar medical debt from consumer credit reports

Thank God. As a lender at a credit union, I’m tired of pleading with our own underwriters to give people a break on their medical debt. Some of them are quite accommodating while others stick to the credit report guidelines religiously. I’ll be glad to see this source of ambiguity cleared up for good, and to stop penalizing people for having the grave misfortune of requiring medical treatment in America.

I found it on his site - no donation or financial payment of any kind was required to win. Sweepstake entries were free.

Kind of misleading headline. She went out of her way to explain to the interviewer that it had nothing to do with marijuana and she was going to treat it as though he had asked who would be fun to be around, like who she would get a pedicure with or something like that.

To recap - a podcast host asks her who she would smoke a blunt with, she pointedly reframes the question, The Hill picks it up and runs a headline implying that she wants to smoke a blunt with Dwayne Johnson anyways.

The GOP’s Next Target? Prenatal Tests (portside.org)

For months, I’ve been tracking the anti-abortion movement’s quiet campaign to force women to carry nonviable pregnancies to term. Their plan includes changing legislation and medical guidelines, forcing doctors to lie to women about their pregnancies, and requiring that women meet with anti-abortion “counselors” before...

Yes, we got it. That’s the joke.

Pregnant person: “Why don’t you go fuck yourself?”

Idiot anti-abortion counselor with no sex education: “Because I don’t want to get pregnant!”

I know I’m late to the party, but I’ve got to share.

Designated my 10-year-old son as my heir (absolute crown authority) because he had good congenital traits and one virtuous trait already.

Less than a year later, in the middle of an offensive war, I die from random harm at age 50. Young son inherits, immediately plummets into debt because he doesn’t have the perks and domain to support the army that his father did.

His siblings and cousins all start fighting over the throne. Forced to surrender both the offensive war and the claimant war, reduced to a mere duke within his own kingdom.

Viciously bullied by a relative, takes the Paranoid trait because Craven is a sin and I’ve had bad experiences with Shy. Didn’t realize just how bad Paranoid was for stress management.

Several older siblings die in the ensuing civil wars. Because of the Paranoid trait, the prince succumbs to a stress-induced heart attack at the tender young age of 13.
