Tonight I used everyone’s favorite internet robot to create a local python web server connected to the frame.io api via ngrok to detect new clips uploaded by a camera-to-cloud production and download them to our cloud NAS host for our editors. Technology is freakin’ magic.

I've been watching more tv these days, you guys ever watch tv? I gotta say, there are some good new shows out there.

But can we get a few more 30-min-per-episode shows? I've got a life to live over here and pausing halfway through one of these long-ass episodes is the worst.

I finally tried out the 6.5bar OPV in my espresso machine and I definitely should have been using this one from the very beginning. Way easier to make good coffee with this one versus the 9bar. I don't know who I thought I was trying to use 9bars over here. Amateur hour.

I'm a little unclear on how many of the people excited by Logic and Final Cut coming to the iPad are excited because they use those products on the Mac and are excited to use them on the iPad, and how many won't really use them and are just excited a checkbox was checked.

Well this is a new one. The volume and mute buttons stopped working on my Apple TV 4K remote. I fished my old Harmony remote out from a box and the controls work. I tried restarting, checking for updates, turning on and off the TV control, turning on and off IR control. I paired the Harmony with the Apple TV and it can control the Apple TV and the TV volume. Is it possible the IR element died on the remote?

@josephhoffmeyer @joesteel Thanks for the tip, mine was just now acting like I was holding the volume down button. Which is slightly less annoying than the last time it did it when it was acting like I was holding the volume up button and cranked that shit so loud.

@ohiorob As a person who never throws away old tech, hell yeah I remember those days. This was my…third phone? I have no idea what happened to the others, but there was an Ericsson and a Motorola before this guy. A few years ago I got it to power on and found the embarrassing texts I sent to my now-wife, circa 2002.

Okay, found the icon(s)—it starts as one and then changes to another—but I don't recognize them at all and can't find them in my Applications folder. Anybody seen these before? Guess I'll Google Image search them too.

@drdrang @dmoren @jsnell I recently went on a quest to ban an app from ever appearing in my dock (it has a menu bar item but likes to flash in the dock too because it’s stupid) and came up empty handed, so if you’ve got some magic that’ll do that sorta thing, give us the goods, sir.

@drdrang I'm pretty sure I tried this (via Xcode) and got slapped on the wrist by Gatekeeper that wouldn't let the app run any more. Maybe I'll give it another try.
