lazyweb: has anyone ever had to connect to an azure SQL database using microsoft entra authentication? I am searching for a solution and all I can find is MSFT espousing how good it is, and so far it feels like an automation nightmare! ping @hrbrmstr because youโ€™ve usually connected to everything before I have.

@Cmastication @ryebreadnyc So I just updated to the dev version of r-dbi/ODBC and that error message is gone. Can confirm that unixodbc is there and am struggling with isql as much as anything because of the MSFT entra auth.

users, Iโ€™m weighing up a new MacBook and wondering whether to go the Air or Pro. I donโ€™t want a 16โ€. Iโ€™m curious to hear peopleโ€™s experiences with the specs they have. Please, no Linux-only recs, as my clients all use the Office suite, which means I need to be able to deliver reliable documents to them, which isnโ€™t quite possible with Libre Office.

@luciedigitalni I was pretty sure for a .au domain you needed to show proof that it was related to your business or name. At least I did for my companies.

@eliocamp Time for @tailscale. @hrbrmstr put me on to them a few years ago and i have not been disappointed. You can create exit nodes if you wnt to browse from another location. Did thaton a apple tv a couple of weeks back an now i can make it like i am browsing from home when i am in another place.

@eliocamp @hrbrmstr Dunno, but @tailscale have a number of cool features like magicdns which can let you browse to your computer name eg http://myserver/ or ssh my server and if youโ€™ve set your server up to use tailscale ssh then no need to worry about key sharing. Itโ€™s pretty awesome!

@noamross @milesmcbain @hrbrmstr Every which way. Depends on typical ways you use QS, but there are a bunch of cool extensions and Iโ€™ve even written some scripts. It is great for window mgmt and screen capture. I also installed a lorem ipsum plugin for when I need to put some text in situ. What are things you use QS for normally?

Wordpress is making this migration from Substack way too easy. (Using an old import for now). Still have to customize a bit, but "it's Wordpress" and rud.is/b runs on that (self-hosted).

Rly hope it's something many others choose.

Substack "Notes" did not rly take off and it's not worth investing time into IMO.

Thanks to some incredible toil+creativity by one of our equally incredible designers at work, I should have a decent example of using + + Plot + (ofc) to generate data-driven PDF reports with a fairly complex multi-page layout ready to blog and git sometime next week.
