The swarmers attack in the original was, for 12-year-old me, a moment of awakening. The "I am so scared and this is so cool" feeling remains one of my defining experiences of interacting with media.

You see these beautiful, terrifying ships sweeping in toward you, the music swells, they're getting closer, and the game will not give you control until the last second. It was breathaking.

@nlovsund Also, wildly enough, they gave the mothership/crew a character arc? The ship starts out as a mining vessel and ends up as a warship.

Haha, rad! A woman in Guyana used @terraso's story maps feature to document a motorcycle trip across the landscape.

I love this. Often in the nonprofit sector we (I) get really clinical describing my community's environment. Telling an actual narrative (road trip!) is a great way to communicate the wonderful things about a place and its people.

Movie idea:

The summer Olympic Village is the epicenter of a zombie apocalypse. People are falling left and right but the combat sport athletes do fantastic. Archery, rifles, even the javelin and hammer toss do great.

They need to hold out for the night and deliver the antidote to a helicopter. People start falling down, tired and overwhelmed by waves of the dead. The day is saved by the rhythmic gymnast who everyone mocked, because their pattern based movements hypnotize the zombies.
