@drq and they're not wrong! The quiet part is that they chose this to be the case. Better yet, they even managed to convince their players that it's justified by making competition less visible and convenient. You have to actively go look for competitors to get the best bang for your buck these days.
And one thing these tools didn't fix much is playtesting. It needs time from management, willing volunteers, a decently running build of the game, attention from creative leadership and game designers and, the hardest part, learning to accept some losses in failed experiments. And we know how they handle experimentation.
