I was using that cute little plane dragon avatar by skip4d in VRC tonight and I absolutely fell in love.

The main person I played VRC with for YEARS kinda had this thing with me where we were this two big manly growly dogs together. Now that I’m kinda venturing in again with different people, I’m exploring the little critter vibe more and it’s so much fun.

It’s also kinda freeing being this cute soft round little thing that’s absolutely not any of my fursonas, it’s kinda freeing in a way.
It reminds me how much I value having a whole pantheon of avatars to choose from depending on the vibe. A big MAN for when I need that, pool toys when I wanna be an “it”, soft little versions of sig and fleece for when I want to be small, and secret fourth things when I want to escape myself a bit.

@lupomancer I haven't played very much VR Chat yet, but this is still one of my favorite feelings! That immersion when you're sitting by a mirror, or when you look down and see fluffy legs... For a little while, we get to be exactly what we want to be and it's great

Happy ! I finally got the courage to accompany a small group of suiters to the local farmer's market/park last weekend, since it was their halloween event. I'm always worried about getting tossed out of this location for some reason. Reception was standard for normies, but I think everyone had a good time!

Impulse rented an anamorphic lens for AC because I've seen so much cool video shot on them. Tonight I get to research how they work and how actually to use them lol

Sometimes I approach an interest by jumping in then trying to work my way out backwards. Is it efficient? Absolutely not, will I set myself up for success? Doubtful XD But here we are

@lupomancer Right?? I always figured it was just creative cropping and shooting 16:9 (I usually just leave my cameras in 3:4) but like these lenses actually physically DO stuff XD

And not to sound like a shill but damn does lensrentals make it dangerously easy to just have some gear show up for a weekend 👀

@lupomancer I have done this before, renting the whole kit, and it's fun! But right away you start to think "I could have spent all that money towards just buying it..." haha

Sigma makes some nifty (and relatively inexpensive) primes for the sony crop bodies, that's what I'm working with now. Plus this anamorphic which is... interesting 👀 About to post on it now.

@lupomancer We had a couple suiters with us at Raleigh Pride this past weekend and I think they were suffering, even in partial! I think Extreme Poodling might be the only way to go in the summer heat haha. Head, short shorts, possibly tank top, flip flops, maaaaybe paws if one's feeling brave.

There's something your wings do when you walk that I want to get a photo or video of next time, I'm not sure if you're completely aware of just how perfectly well they work (aside from the whole no-tools part haha)

But yes I think is it, but you should see it from behind! The bend of your wings as you hold them makes them hover/swish just above the floor. It's truly perfect.

Man I was just cooking up a post about how much I enjoy the circle of trust I experience online here.

Like, I trust my instance admins, and I also follow other instance admins and see their daily thoughts/posts/experiences to the point where I feel I trust them too and could easily recommend their instances to a friend.

There's no central body deeming an instance/admin "trustworthy", it's literally all naturally occurring, home-grown trust.

I was then thinking about how I wish more of my internet friends could experience what this is like; having what feels like a small, quiet neighborhood where you feel safe but ONLINE! Then I kinda reached the point where I realized that I'm not going to surprise someone with how good this place is. Part of the reason it's so great is because we all sought out something better and contributed to it. We all want to be here.

Maybe convincing friends to join wouldn't be a net positive for the online space, maybe who and what we have is better?
