It seems like it worked for me. As in your last link brings up lemmygrad and on the lemmy.ml homelab community. At least for me. I do find lemmy's federation to have some wierd first time a community is shared issues personally.
How do you search for Lemmy communities here on Kbin, if they don't show up in the "Magazines" search? I know that on Lemmy if you use the full Lemmy community syntax (!community_name) to search for a community on another server, your Lemmy server will go out and index that community and then it will show up in the search results a few minutes later.
Is there a specific syntax to use when searching for Lemmy communities that aren't already populated on Kbin?
Idea: Scrape all the posts from a subreddit as they're being made, and "archive" them on a lemmy instance, making it very clear it's being rehosted, and linking back to the original. It would probably have to be a "closed" lemmy instance specifically for this purpose. The tool would run for multiple subreddits, allowing Lemmy...
Well there is a tool that uses the API for this purpose https://github.com/rileynull/RedditLemmyImporter Maybe one of the little niches carved out for free API use, like for bots or something might work for that, but definitely should work now.
Another interesting idea is for getting historical data, pulling it from the archive.org project from the project r/datahoarders are doing now.
Honestly I think Fediverse + IPFS + Matrix + Email all rolled into one app and you could have a pretty powerful "everything app" with a huge amount of features, but none of the lock in (so users that don't use the app aren't excluded and vice versa).
I mean, me either, heck their stance on blocking anti-slavery measures is worse and they don't even change that. I just don't expect them to act ethically, but would always bet they will act on brand.
Honestly, yeah, looking forward to when my budget lets me get the SimulaVR headset. Do I want something with a fraction of the software or apps as my laptop. No, that would be a huge step backwards. Do I want to have to buy software and jump through 15 hoops to modify anything? no.
So unfortunately Apple's ISore and Facebook's head-mounted surveillance device aren't for me, but a full Linux machine with x86 with infinite displays and full body interactions, for sure.
Hey, everyone reddit is going through a tizzy and with a blackout being proposed on the subreddit of pathfinder2.E I was wondering If this could be a place for people to start moving too?
All great points! Also I didn't realize that lemmy.ml had a pathfinder community and honestly thought I found the https://pathfinder.social/ community, I do not want to over burden this instance either.
Honestly I thought a lot of the features and concepts were cool, but their launch just made me want the simulaVR more. I'm just not immersed enough in apple products to get the synergy that it provides, but I am drowning in linux that can work with SimulaVR
/c/homelab from lemmygrad.ml?
This works:...
I'm considering making a reddit to lemmy cross posting tool.

First impressions: Yes, Apple Vision Pro works and yes, it’s good. (techcrunch.com)
Early impressions sound like Apple may have actually pulled this off. Here’s what The Verge had to say:...
