Can't believe it has to be said, but the racism Black people experience and their racial trauma is different from the racism Asian people, Latino folks, Indigenous peoples, etc. experience and while these are similar and interlinked, they are not necessarily all the same, nor are all the groups included under the POC umbrella equally disenfranchised within the frameworks of white supremacy and colonialism

Yes we are all BIPOC, no just because you're also BIPOC doesn't mean you get a free pass for being anti-Black, anti-Indigenous, anti-Asian, anti-Latino, etc., and it certainly doesn't excuse you from the work of analyzing the inherently racist aspects of the things you do, say, think, etc. including your own internalized racism against yourself

The other thing I have to add is that racism pervades every aspect of our lives in the society we live in. Even when it isn't invoked explicitly or by name, it's present - because everyone carries their biases with them.

Did somebody say that you did/said something racist? You say you didn't say anything about race at all? Well, get this, you didn't have to. It's always about race. Even when it isn't about race, it is. Especially when it isn't about race, it is.

While I agree it's sad that hol.ogra.ph has been put up for a fediblock recommendation, that is their right to do.

A person on hol.ogra.ph engaged Ro and one of my off-instance mutuals with unprovoked hostility, out of nowhere. This behavior was inconsistent with what we'd like for our instance's culture and interactions with other instances, and I've, for now, issued at least a warning, pending other consequences if necessary.

With how racism and other forms of bigotry on fedi function, it's understandable why he'd recommend a block. He (as well as other admins) have the prerogative to act appropriately to protect themselves and their communities. As such, please do not attempt to circumvent or litigate any instance blocks against hol.ogra.ph or harass anyone - we do not support that at all.

I really should get in the habit of writing my thoughts after I finish a book because looking at my ratings right now? Wild. These books are Not on the same 3 star level. Why did I give That book one more star than the Other one.
