I’m gonna dispute the rec on pixels. I had to give up on them (and therefore the Roms that only support them :( ). I think they might have gotten worse over the years. I had a 3a for a long time but after I had to replace that I couldn’t find anything stable.

When they break the parts are $$$$ to replace. Guy at the phone repair place told me its cause they are niche so not a lot of 3rd party manufacturer. Can only buy from google. When my screen broke it would have cost more to fix than the whole thing costed to buy on eBay.

Better to buy a more popular device, can get parts more likely.

Do you want the box to display or a hard copy of the installer?

If the latter I’m sure I’ve seen them for sale in the past couple of years on distro websites. Click “get [distro]” and its some secondary item to downloading which is what most people went. Might be a USB key or disc.

If you want an actual box idk how they are shipped.

How curious. Are you doing a play?

You might have to DIY one if you don’t want an old one. Certainly there are websites you could upload a PDF to that would print for you.

I think the boxes made sense when they were for sale in a brick n mortar store because they are harder to steal and make the person feel like they are buying something when digital goods weren’t such an instinctive idea. I doubt they would be shipped because they are big for no reason and would require a lot of packaging to keep from getting wrecked in transit vs a USB key in a bubble envelope.

To buy linux in a box, you would have to find somewhere near you that is selling it in person. A computer store, a book store. Maybe a campus bookstore? They have a captive audience so sometimes can get away with stuff that doesn’t otherwise make business sense.

There is a keyboard shortcut to reload the config. I don’t remember what the default is. On the kitty website, go to the page about kitty.conf and ctrl-f reload or refresh.

To check that the config is really reloading, make an edit to the section about theme, tab style, etc.

There is a way to output the actual config as used so you can look for your settings.

If you call kitty from the command line you can optionally use an argument to specify a config file. Iirc it is --config but verify in docs.

What is the location of the config file you are editing?

Post the section of the config file that isn’t working?

Try moving the section you are editing to the very bottom of the file to ensure it isn’t getting over rided later on.

Did anyone try to charge Obama?

Just because he could have been charged but wasn’t, doesn’t make it precedent. Its only precedent if it proceeds to court and there is a finding.

I assume there would be at least several dozen if not couple hundred weirdos refusing for reasons of all sorts. doesn’t israel have stubborn weirdos?

what’s the point of knowing about people if people you know don’t count

I needed any video to open to see if I have correctly configured the audio codecs on my new linux install. Bingo!

What a fun way to teach people about science. I just clicked though but those candies look good. And now I remember I have a whole jar of cinnamon hearts so I’m gonna go make my mouth all red now. Fantastic video.

I wondered if this was some kind of joke, but it’s not: PRESS RELEASE: Future Software Should Be Memory Safe | The White House

Purely as an end user. If I am looking for a tool to accomplish a given task for which there are a bunch of choices, I will try rust or C first before trying the other options. I don’t know if it is inherent in either language or if the people who use them just tend to be better coders. As opposed to something like python where the barrier to entry is much lower.

I love the rust spins on classic cli tools like ag (grep), fd (find) and eza/exa (ls). Though I couldn’t live without any of the originals either. They are just so mature and so well documented.

Is it my imagination or is rust more MIT kind of vibe compared to GPL with C stuff?

I was wondering if they had introduced some javascript to invigilate people actually retyping a sentence which would be funny. But it literally just says copy/paste. And if you really felt badly about this text you could find a sentence like this one:

No.

And if that’s not good enough, well, I guess it’s just not the instance for you.

These days a lot of kids just speak English

(I mean, at least in the Metropolitan area) Earlier I waited in line at a shop in Helsinki and behind me was a large group of schoolkids, all various people of colour and all speaking American English with each other. It’s a fairly common occurrence in Eastern Helsinki and makes you feel like you’re in the US or Canada...

It’s not like great replacement anxiety. Great replacement is a fear of people who have been subjugated for centuries. Whereas anglophones have been dominant.

Totally different dynamics. Blurring them together is like talking about reverse racism. The content and context matters.

I don’t think this component count be 50us or even 5us.

Is “cumpanhero” like “cumrade”?
