governorkeagan,

I am no expert, please correct me if I’m wrong

From what I understand, it’s like Nix but Arch based. The /system.yaml file contains all of the packages installed on the system.

governorkeagan,

I used Pop for a couple months (nvidia GPU) with no issues at all. It was rock solid! They also have a new DE coming soon (hopefully) that looks really good so far - context

governorkeagan,

Just trying to learn and improve here. It’s much easier to mess around with an api in your own project than an already existing project

Any advice for a long-time Linux user, first-time Linux *desktop* user?

I’m a regular user of Linux systems but apart from a couple of test Ubuntu installs many years ago they’ve always been containers or VMs with no DE which I can throw away when I break them. Edit: Found it, MapSwap

governorkeagan,

governorkeagan,

I think the “difficult” part for a lot of people has to do with the network effect. There is more friction to using Matrix over Discord because all of their friends use Discord (as an example). Of course, this wouldn’t apply to everything but it is definitely something that has an effect.
