#4 graduates today 🎓! Super proud of the lad! Final one of the four to make it past the HS gauntlet. Truly going to miss him every day in the Fall, and beyond, as he heads off to uni. I'm also very thankful that he's free (for now) from so many things we "adults" have failed to prevent.

Today, we discuss how Microsoft stole the concept for Recall from Rewind.AI, and also take some well-deserved pot shots at this new security nightmare.

@GottaLaff apart from the Bulwark podcast, you’ve been the only source of news for this trial stuff and no words can describe how thankful I (and, I suspect, many others) am for the work you put into it.
The American media is gonna end up either killing or subjugating all of us due to the laziness and incompetence of most reporters, and perverse agendas of editors and news execs. https://mastodon.social/@mhoye/112521995675929287
Hey, so I've been (slowly) moving my top up-voted, on-platform STÃСКοᏙËԻfιОѡ answers to gists and leaving defanged URLs in their place in the answer boxes.
The mods have not figured this out, yet.
It preserves the answers for humans using the platform and stops AI from benefitting from them.
I suspect SO is also selling backups to AI orgs, so it's likeky moot. But it's at least something.
Today's midweek edition of the Drop features btop, ttyd, Homebrew Bundle, and fastfetch. btop is a resource monitor offering comprehensive system performance metrics and handy process commands. ttyd allows sharing terminal sessions over the web and facilitates file transfers. Homebrew Bundle manages and installs packages consistently, while fastfetch is a faster alternative to neofetch.
The late Monday edition of the Drop focuses on productivity tools and news sources. "btw" is a minimalist blogging platform, while the technique of using a calendar for task allocation is recommended for time management. "News Minimalist" uses a rating system for news significance. Additional text-only news sources are suggested for those who prefer lightweight news consumption.
#4 has some mates over, again, for a board game marathon & I was asked to reprise my jambalaya feast from the other weekend. Did mis en place prep a bit ago and will drop some pix after it's made. Had to double the honey cornbread recipe O_O.
