I’m the Linux techie bird nerd horror aficionado lady your mother warned you about. Pinging cyberspace since the days of legend when modems shook hands and audibly greeted one another.
I’m curious if any of you still use anything other than fediverse. Since discovering it last year I’ve deleted all my non fedi social media, and it feels great!
I’ve been considering it. Right now I’m on Pop!_OS as I use a System76 laptop. It’s based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS which is pretty old at this point. Which distro would you recommend for best WINE preconfigured and up to date install?
One more question, thank you by the way for helping. Would Nobara be a bit bloated for me considering I don’t really game or even have an Nvidia card? I just use an Intel 13th Gen i7 with onboard graphics. Would a different distro with wine preconfigured be better without all that extra stuff like steam/Nvidia compat pre installed? If so which would you recommend?
While there is scientific consensus that human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, are the main driver of climate change, only 58% percent of Americans across the country echoed that conclusion.
After singing up for Tumblr and being sad that they’re not yet (and might never) federate with Activitypub I started digging around fedidb.org and found out about micro.blog....
Yes it’s federated. I’ve tested it. My profile shows up in mastodon. I’m also following lots of mastodon users with my custom domain and their posts show up on my micro.blog timeline.
Tumblr has been put into a maintenance mode of sorts this past year with its fediverse integration plans brought into question. It’s still a possibility albeit less so than when it was announced over a year ago.
Also the what and how Tumblr plans on integrating is yet to be divulged. To what extent it’ll federate content with the greater AP network isn’t fully understood.
I don’t fully understand how lemmy works completely yet. But for example I made an account at Division by zero and subscribe here to post. Is it not just a more inconvenient version of making a reddit account and being able to post practically anywhere?...
Lemmings, do you use any social media outside of the Fediverse?

An actual real video of WINE anytime I attempt to use it to run a windows executable. (cdn.transfem.social)
Seriously though. It never works for me.
