Warum die Band „Defrage Reload“ Parkplätze statt Bandcamp verwendet ist mir ein Rätsel. Da mein Vater auf einem dieser Parkplätze war habe ich reingehört. Mein Zwischenfazit zum Album „Revelation One“: Technisch und musikalisch naja.

@onkelmarkus Weitere Recherche zeigt: Immer die selben Songs bei wechselnden Bandnamen scheint die Masche zu sein. Seit Jahren auf Parkplätzen zu kaufen.

@thomas Genres haben für mich noch nie wirklich funktioniert. Beispiele: “Alternative” oder “Indie”. Darum ist auch egal welches Genres Plex sich ausdenkt ;-)

Until now, I didn't particularly like the band Wheel from Germany (not the Finnish band with the same name).

Some time ago, I accidentally bought the album "Preserved in Time" [1] on Bandcamp when I actually wanted to buy something from the Finnish band Wheel.

Now Plex just played it for me in the mix and I'm quite happy with it right now! 🤘

Alter. 10 Minuten später hab ich nen Plex Server laufen, der gerade meine Musik indiziert.

Wie grandios ist das denn?

Habe mit mehr Aufwand gerechnet. Bin ziemlich begeistert.

Einfach nur

$ dpkg -i plex-server.deb

Dann Web UI aufrufen, mit Account verknüpfen. Sagen, wo die Musikmedien liegen. Läuft.

ist ne coole Sache und ich mag das Projekt.

Trotzdem hat es so seine Macken. Und die sind nicht ohne: Beispielsweise fängt die offizielle App beim Musikplayback an, zu stottern. Nämlich dann, wenn sie nicht mehr im Hintergrund läuft.

Das Problem ist bekannt und liegt wohl daran, dass die App in Grunde nur ein Webbrowser ist, der dann von Android schlafen gelegt wird.

Aber trotzdem. Das ist doch eine absolut grundlegende Funktion. Dass das so schlecht funktioniert, frustriert.

@thomas Ich finde Plex mit Musik funktioniert mit der PlexAmp App ziemlich gut. Seit kurzem habe ich aber LMS (+ Material Skin) installiert und es mit meinem Musikverzeichnis beworfen. Für Multiroom oder Musik von einem Raum in den anderen zu legen ist es überlegen. Streame damit auf Squeezelite und AirPlay Player. Für Musikwiedergabe auf dem Phone bevorzuge ich jedoch PlexAmp.
