I've been clinging to a futile hope that

(a) Mastodon would automatically start to feel natural to me; or

(b) A magical new alternative would appear; or

(c) Twitter would stop its death-spiral into fascism.

Since it's clear none of those are happening, I'm finally going to bite the bullet and leave the Hellsite and commit to posting only here.

Friends, I would love help with rebuilding my network and getting the "feel" of Mastodon. <3

@misc Something like 4K followers, which isn't a lot on the grand scale, but was really meaningful for me in spreading info about my projects and having dialogues about the things I learn. :blob_cry:

Main thing is probably just familiarity, which will change with time.

The Twitter algorithm actually worked pretty well for putting things in front of my face that I care about, so I'll miss that.

There's also the issue of "official presence" - celebs, companies and orgs, sports teams - that still seems to be primarily on Twitter.

I also liked making thread posts and haven't figured that out here yet.
