Oracle poking fun at RedHat and IBM?!? First Microsoft and now Oracle. What is going on???

TL;DR: the reason is that men are horndogs, and those that for some weird reason want to say “no” are pressured by the Patriarchy and/or Toxic Masculinity to say “yes.”

Did I get the gist of the article right? 🤔

krnl386,
@krnl386@lemmy.ca avatar

Yeah, maybe not the horndog part, but the rest checks out if you read between the lines.

Not sure if it has anything to do with the Star Trek series, though… or does it?

Why the heck are they asking for email addresses??

That’s ridiculously cute! Is this a real photo?

Mind blown! Thanks so much for the comprehensive list!! 🙏

I haven’t tried it yet, but on the desktop I intend to try the PWA with Brave browser. In terms of privacy, it’s hard to beat on any platform.

Honestly, I don’t quite get how there are still publications being done through these publishers. IMHO that makes me suspect some sort of under the table kickbacks to the authors of the study or the institution. Anything published in a non-Open Access publication should automatically be flagged for conflict of interest for kickbacks from the publisher to the authors.

Do you get better numbers with Windows on the same PC?

I noticed that as well; seems like a regression bug, unless that feature has been deprecated.

krnl386,
@krnl386@lemmy.ca avatar

Neat! Nice of them to do that. It seems to be a few releases behind, though.

I hear you. I run my own instance in Docker with watchtower for auto-updates. Voyager gets lots of updates, however, so watchtower doesn’t keep up for the time being. Hopefully with time things will stabilize more and there will be less frequent releases.

Check out vger.app ; it’s a PWA so it’s “installable” to the launcher.

This. It’s likely it’s a session problem (expired session).

Just saw this post. Looks like it should be possible!

I see your point… votes from a compromised instance (or instances) and such. How is this more or less vulnerable to a centralized model?

krnl386,
@krnl386@lemmy.ca avatar

Did anyone ever claim that the Fediverse is somehow a solution for the bot/fake vote or even brigading problem?

This is just cringe. You realize the term “master race” in this context is derived from “PC master race” which in turn was coined as part of the console gamers vs. PC gamers rivalry, i.e. the “console ‘tards” vs. “PC gamer master race”… sigh…

This take is as cringy as gamergate, TBH.
