Just learned of the passing of Bob Heil, legendary sound guy, ham radio mentor, and good friend.
Bob hosted our show "Ham Nation" for ten years and we've been using his PR-40 mics exclusively on TWiT ever since I met him at the second Podcast Expo in 2006.
@leo I am so sorry to hear about this. The fact your studio uses PR 40 mics is what inspired me to save up money to get one for myself, which I now proudly use during my Twitch streams. The many compliments I receive regarding how good my voice sounds is a testament to Bob's skills and his drive for perfection. Thank you, Bob, for helping us all sound better.
The difficulty this year was all over the map. This was easier than Day 5. And Day 12. But there were a few tricky parts. I was very proud of myself that I used closures both in 12 and 13. A new idea for me and very handy. On to 2023-14 which I am told is very hard.
@leo It got heated on WW this week. I simultaneously loved it and felt extremely uncomfortable. Was glad I watched the video instead of listening this week for the facial expressions.
@leo Leaving aside the price point for a device that will likely be obsolete in a year or two, a headset that cannot be worn with glasses -- and that requires prescription inserts or contact lenses, is a nonstarter for many people.
